you should expect when you are with one team and go decide to work for their greatest rival, you might get booed. The MN/WI rivalry gets fierce! Brett could be working for ANY other team (well, actually his dumb ass should just retire already), but to switch to MN? BOO! hah!

(And I don't even care about football like that)

That and just the WAY he ended up with the Vikings. First retiring, then unretiring, then retiring again IIRC before going with them. It makes it look like he was actually trying to be as douchy as he could about the whole thing.

I think if it was just a simple "I'm gonna go play for them now" without all that shit, it would have been at least a little different.

let's do the chronology:

packers lose 2007 nfc championship game.

favre "retires"

favre has second thoughts, but packers they are moving on without him with aaron rodgers.


favre offered $20 million by packers to stay retired so favre would never play at lambeau again


favre traded to afc ny jets with a NO TRADE CLAUSE to only one team--minnesota.
minnesota would have to forfeit 2 first picks if they traded for the 39 year old favre.

favre signs with jets, retires at end of season.

jets release favre; favre signs with vikings in august.

vikings 7-1, gb 4-3.

favre throws 7 touchdowns in 2 games vs pack.
