Yeah, I'm attached to Long Island.
It's where I've lived all my life.
We're a 30-min train ride away from midtown New York City.
We have awesome beaches (although the water is not that great).
AND we have NO EXTREME WEATHER!!!
....no major blizzards, no earthquakes, no tornadoes, no crazy flooding (well, so far at least), no major hurricanes (since 1932 at least), and no forests to burn.

I can assure you that we swim in our beaches and sail the waterways with as much zeal as anyone else in the USA.

...now...whether or not we should be IN those nasty, polluted, waters is a totally different story!

Yes, I'm attached to land. I hate flying, but I have to do it. I also hate cruises (see thread about cruises). I like water sports though. I like traveling by train. I also don't mind driving.

As far as THE LAND itself, I like traveling to different places.. so I don't have a preference. But I couldn't live where it rained all the time. Now, I can visit and vacation where there's a lot of rain. But living there... no!
