I think it's a 6 Degrees Of Separation thing. Rosie Perez was in Do The Right Thing which was directed by Spike Lee who worked with Prince on the Girl 6 and Bamboozled Soundtracks.

OH..well, then.

I couldn't hold on! I couldn't hold on.

On a serious note, I few months back I did some research on this film (one of my all time favs) and was saddened to learn the story (and perez') character were based on a real crash and a real woman. Unfortunately, the woman's child was laid on the floor by the flight attendant and died during the crash. The woman advocated for a change in policy that resulted in today's law that requires that children now must be placed in their own seat. Sad story. Youtube actually has footage of the real crash.

I love me some Rosie.

She did a film where she played a lesbian and I believe Leguizamo was her mentally challenged brother or something like that.
I don't think it ever saw the light of day. sad

That movie and the final scene introduced me to Henryk Gorecki's music. Seeing Rosie act in a real role is a teat. I actually own this film. nod

Yep. Great movie. This crash was based on the flight that lost it's tail rudder and made the runway in Iowa, but ended up in a cornfield adjacent to it. It was amazing that anyone survived the event - unscathed, no less. The story of the infant is so tragic.

I grew up about 40 miles from Sioux City, Iowa where that took place. I was in high school when it happened. My mom is a registered nurse and helped treat the survivors.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
