Henry VIII - The Tudors Has anyone else been watching the latest season of The Tudors (airing now in the UK, probably already shown in the US as it's made there)?
Anyhow, am I the only one who thinks that Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII bears a passing resemblence to Prince (especially Prince in Under the Cherry Moon - I guess it's the hair, but also the bone structure!!!! I've just been to the Showtime website, and have to say that the resemblence is greater in the actual programme than looking at the still photo's of Jonathan. The really weird thing is that Jonathan in this role also reminds me of my boss who has never reminded me of Prince. After watching the latest episode this evening, I shall go to work with a renewed interest tomorrow morning!!! | |

If you want a more realistic-telling of the Tudors, check out "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" and "Elizabeth R", produced by the BBC in the early 70s. I'm sure they're on DVD. | |

Those were great. Keith Michell was a wicked good Henry.  We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

Those were great. Keith Michell was a wicked good Henry. Oh hell yeah. And Glenda Jackson was kick-ass as Elizabeth I. With all due respect to Helen Mirren, Glenda's was the best I've seen, portraying Elizabeth from ages 25-70. | |
