Computer Help!!!

How can Personal Antivirus be removed? It seemed to just install itself and I can't get rid of it. I've tried uminstalling, deleting, google search and everything I could think of. I keep getting Acess Denied message. Please Help!

Alt+ctrl+del Then open up task manager then go into processes and find the corresponding file which is running the program and close it. Then quickly delete the folder and its gone biggrin

Still there is garbage left behind if you only delete the folder.

Thanks Ren and LeCram. It is very confunsing to start the foray into spyware and antivirus programs. Hopefully, I'll be buying a new computer soon and will consider these seriously. I had spybot on a past computer but it wouldn't allow access to so many sites and attachments that I deleted it. Is that still the case?

It's indeed confusing the 1st time. i had the same experience. but you will learn if you want.

many years ago i had a virus construction set so i could make my own viruses.
1st i made a decent backup of important files and documents. and infected my computer, just to see what happens. And then i tried to fix it, without the use of anti virus programs.

another way to get rid of is the easy way. start all over again with a fresh install. if you do this, make sure you backup 1st some documents.

nowadays you need:
1) antivirus
2) anti spyware
3) firewall

i use avast as a antivirus and ad-aware as anti-spyware. and they fullfill my needs.
Windows firewall only controls incoming traffic. I use a firewall which also controls the outgoing traffic. Normally no program starts without my approval.
http://www.pctools.com there's also a free version available
