My God, I love Thailand! - August 10 Update (a few more piccies)

and I haven't even been off my Aunt & Uncle's property yet

I've been here roughly 14 hours and am exhausted as hell... complete jetlag, but for some reason too tired to sleep.

My aunt had her cooks make me a delicious thai lunch and gave me a tour of her houses on her property, the middle one I am currently stay in.
Firstly, the weather here is hot and humid, but not any hotter than what I was used to in Tampa. Thus, I feel at home in the heat. It really made me relaxed right away.

All the food she had prepared for us used herbs that from the gardens around the house. The gardner grows everything organically, so all of it is doubly healthy...and flavourful.

I really needed this trip. We had a meaninful conversation about our upbringing and some of the pain that was in the family which we all needed to deal with. I've never... I mean, NEVER had a meaningful conversation with my aunt like the one I had over lunch today. I think we really broke through to each other, and now I'm her favorite nephew

We both tried to get my grandmum to drink some beer and get drunk with us, but she wouldn't have any of it.

Her maids think I'm cute

I could live here....forever.



I can see why Fauxie lives here despite the fact that the sun blisters his porceline skin..... It's paradise.


Guys, I'm beings self-indulgent in this thread, but trust me....I can't help myself. I'm really happy right now. And I just love love love this place, and my family.

I really enjoyed watching that! I've never been lucky enough to travel outside the US, and it was great getting a glimpse of another culture and country like that. It looks really, really beautiful there and as somebody else already said, everybody seems so happy.
