Burt's Bees

anyone use their stuff? anyone a fan?

I've been sampling some of their products and I'm undecided about how much of it actually works. I really like the banana & beeswax hand cream. It's the only thing I've found that actually makes my hands less rought. I think the peppermint foot cream is pretty good too.

I really like their man soap too. The honey lip balm smells and tastes good, but I'm not sure how well it actually works.

The shaving cream is pretty much useless if you've got more than 4 days' growth, but the aftershave is very soothing and freshens the skin.

I don't think I've been using the lime cuticle cream long enough to determine whether or not it works.

Has anyone else tried this stuff? And can you tell me what your results were? I'm shopping around for new grooming supplies every few months, and this stuff smelled so fantastic that I couldn't resist. But does it work?

Thanks.

JerseyKrs bought me a set of Burts Bees products a few years ago when he was still single, and doing so was very gay and very brave of him. mushy

I like their sugar body scrub, though you have to ensure your house is prone to ant problems, cause they love that shit lol

There are many many organic "green" products on the market now that do the job of keeping us boyz clean without needing to use parabens, phosphates, and harsh chemical detergents.

My favorite soaps :
http://www.herbariasoap.com/ Their mint and coffee scented soaps are drool and they're stuff isn't super perfumed either. All the scents come from natural essential oils--no petroleum products or chemicals.

My favorite Facial scrub: http://www.jason-natural.com/
JASON cosmetics makes natural/organic, chemical free products too. Their apricot face scrub is amazing. It's weird as first cause it feels a bit greasy and rough at the same time. And it has a very strong apricot smell...more natural smelling than the commercial St. Ives stuff. But it works much better without harsh detergents which are in the other products.

Burts Bees falls in that category of natural/organic products, though I haven't tried them all that much cause of their use of animal products (bees wax, etc.) and I prefer mostly vegan based products.
However, the lip balms work beautifully. I don't understand why anyone would want to use the petrolium based balms after using Burts Bees.

There's also a company that makes a line called Alba which claims to be all natural. Their lip balms are made from coconut oils. They make some really nice body washes from mangos, etc. that leave the skin fresh and soft.

I really believe these natural products are going to take off. At least I hope. My eczema cleared up and I attribute this to my having switch away from commercial groomy products as well as commercial cleaning products and going with these 'green' alternatives.

are there any good natural-type facial moisturizers that are good at reducing redness?

it seems that Aveeno (probably not natural in the first place, don't know, don't care) has stopped producing the Ultra-calming night cream, or at least the stores I used to get it at don't carry it anymore.

I'm looking for a replacement. I picked up the Burt's Bees after-sun stuff to test it out, but it's not really targeted at what I'm looking to do.

Is your redness due to sun exposure, or is it just you don't like your complection?

I do spend a lot of time in the sun, but it's more about my complexion. I burn the firs time out, but end up with a really great tan. It's more about my complexion, especially during the winter. Regular moisturizers don't really cut it. I'm looking specifically for something to help with a ruddy complexion.

The only thing I use regularly is their Herbal Blemish Stick - it's so easy to use, I like that I can keep it in my purse & treat a blemish throughout the day @ work without it being a big production...

Tried the Royal Jelly Eye Cream but I didn't think it was doing much...

The Apricot Baby Oil smells nice. I have it around here somewhere, need to break that out...

I wanted to try the Milk & Honey Body Lotion but it's so thin, it wouldn't moisturize my skin well enough...
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I've been trying a lot of the Lush products and am in love with them. Some department stores sell them but I order direct from lush.com, or get them cheap on ebay or amazon.

I'm a huge proponent of Burt's Bees products.

I use the Pomegranate shampoo and conditioner.

I use the Milk & Shea Butter body wash, as well as the Men's line body wash.

I use the lip balm regularly.

I use the Mama Bee Belly Butter (which is made for pregnant women's bellies to stave off stretch marks during the 9 months) on my face. It keeps my skins moist, not greasy, and it's always plump and supple.

I use the Lemongrass hand salve around the eyes. It keeps the wrinkles to a minimum. So does the Almond hand balm. And especially the Banana hand creme.

I use the Peach & Willowbark face scrub. LOVE IT!!!

I have also used the milk powder bubble bath powder. WONDERFUL.

I use the Dusting Powder (talc free), and it's great in shoes to keep your feet fresh and unstinky.

I've used their bar soap, and it's great.

I use the Coconut Foot Creme and it's SOO nice.

About once a month, I do an extra scrub on my feet, smooth them down w/ my calus remover, etc, then I slather on the Mama Bee Belly Butter and Coconut Foot Creme, HEAVILY, wrap them in a plastic bag, and put a sock on over that (cutting off the excess bag), and sleep with that on my feet over night. When I get up, I take it all off, and rub in any remaining lotion. Sooooo smooth. The coconut cream is good after a shower in general. Also, use the coconut creme at night w/ just a clean pair of cotton socks. Let's the lotion soak in and your feet breathe too. (They actually make little black socks for this reason w/ a little Bee on the side. I have a pair.)

I've tried a lot of their other products, including the Ginger body wash, and other items. I've just gravitated to what works best for me. The Milk and Honey body lotion is AWESOME as an every day body lotion.

Also, their sunscreen and After Sun Soother (after sunburn lotion) work really well.

I'm more "Green" these days, and using more natural products for myself is part of that.

All of their products are just wonderful.
PS I am not sure if they have a deodorant, but I use Tom's of Maine toothpaste, as well as their deodorant (Lavendar or unscented).

Here's a pic of just some of my Burt's products, just for you:

i've noticed that the cuticle cream works really well. my cuticles have been a mess forever and after a week of using it every day, they look almost like they belong to a human again.

I love the Herbal Blemish Stick. Really takes care of pimples.

The Coconut Foot Cream is awesome, as is the Almond Milk hand cream (smells sooo divine) and the lemon cuticle cream (ditto).

The only disappointing product I've tried is their Citrus & Ginger Root Hand Soap. It didn't get my hands clean.
