It's funny in the chat how alej, protege and IndefatigableCrumb are told they should change the way they type, stop spoiling chat for the others, and stop using the language they do, because it's disrespectful, distracting, and lawd knows what else. lol

People get so uppity in there. You're not even allowed to make a harmless bum-rape joke about your wife without being told to apologize to the other chatters.

Well, there is the matter of chatiquette - consistently posting in caps is hardly allowed in any chatroom. As for the rest of their behaviour, they get what they dish out - disrespect, that is.
The other thing, you already know how I feel about that... apparently you should have known there was a rape victim in the room before you made the joke, and possibly also have posted five threads about how much you love your wife and after that post extra links to those threads in case somebody had missed it. But in essence, you should have gossiped about rape victims who frequent the chat room before deciding whether to make that joke.
hug

But they don't care, that's the difference. For the most part they let any disrespect slide off their backs because they're just there to have fun, not deliberately piss anyone off. Except Alej, he's been proven borderline-evil by scientists in Switzerland.

No, that's ok, because Prince does it. This was more like...

ota... secks... :risa:... :men:... :yourmawm:

I mean, nobody is questioning that they're quite obviously absurd, and quite possibly the future of the earth is doomed if they're a fair representative of the current generation of teenagers, but to get all upset about it and demand they change when they're just harmlessly having fun with their friends? lol

I was insinuating that it is a crime NOT to replace your e's with 3's, Prince fans unite over that shit.
I do not get why ppl get so upset over youngin's expressing themselves.
shrug

Ah yes, I believe I missed the 'not' in your post. lol

It's fine that they don't care, in fact many of us put them on ignore and carry on. Typing all in caps isn't allowed though so they shouldn't act all offended when they get booter out for that.
Personally I think there are a million chat rooms for wet-behind-the-ears young'uns to measure their body parts with others in so they don't actually have to be in the Org chat room to do that.

I've not seen them use caps for any length of time. A single line is fine, I think.

Measure their body parts? lol I'm not sure they're immature in quite that way. Besides, I'm not sure I find what they do as immature as people complaining about it. Like I said, harmless, silly fun, and that's a GOOD thing. Maybe I'm immature too, but I enjoy seeing people laugh and have a good time and I'm glad to be able to connect with that. I think there's room left there for everyone else to have their own fun in their own way. And like you said, there's always the ignore option.

Perhaps body parts wasn't really what I was after hmmm It's more wanting to shock people and show that they don't care, which of course means they do - if you don't care there's no reason to push it. What I refer to is some of those kids' constant use of sex-related words (that's where the body parts come in I guess) and cussing - it's done not to have fun within their own group but to try shocking other chatters. Most of us are about twice as old as those kids so it just becomes annoying. They for the most part have nothing productive to say even to each other so I don't see the fun in it. But perhaps I should be happy they do, as you seem to be. I just can't see that happening any time soon though. lol

You're part of the mod clique!

I'm just kidding.

I just think when people have know each other for awhile, and/or have shared interests, well it's easy to become a "clique." I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing.. but I guess from an "outsiders'" pespective, it can be a little lonely, not being part of any group. But then again, maybe there are reasons for the outsider to be an outsider, too?

I was about to say that I think I 'get it', but I'm pretty sure that simply by saying that I instantly render myself a past-it fuddy-duddy. Still, there's something in the nonsensical that I like because that fits part of my own sense of humour. I used to chat exactly like that with Raijuan before I was even aware of them being orgers so it's also nostalgia for me. lol

A nihilistic, self-centered, solipsistic individual that is MAD misanthropic and world-weary; especially of the contemporary youth/generation. Basically, a disgruntled Traditionalist within this context. I want to like her. But she's so uptight. Learn to let loose, baby! Let go of your inhibitions. Live a little.

You'll almost certainly be popular here if you...

* Possess the ability to write in English to the level of an average native speaking 12 year old or higher, using a thread-appropriate vocabulary

+ also bring AT LEAST one of the following:

* An attractive appearance and willingness to post new pics of yourself as threads call for them
* Sense of humour
* The ability to generally not be a cunt more than once in a while

Have a look at the above and see which YOU can tick off.

Other non-essential, but nevertheless popularity-boosting properties of an orger may include...

* Knowledge
* Creative talent (photoshopping, music, photography etc.)
* Overtly high amount of genuine kindness and compassion for others

You forgot the most important part!

Actually, it's flawed. You could be able to write in English and not be a cunt for most of the time, and still not be popular. That should be alongside the other necessity. nod geek
