LA-Hollywood Lifestyle

Talked about other cities now talk about oneof the best. LA is the biggest city on The West Coast and 2nd largest in the country. SMog, cars, and boobie inplants are what people think of LA. It's got it's good and bad sides. From Disney to Compton, Universal to East LA, Hollywoodto the west side tell about Los Angeles.

Went through a phase where I loved it, but wouldn't want to live there now. Maybe outside of L.A. (the weather can't be beat).

L.A. would seem worse than a jungle to me.

Somehow, I end up there about once a year despite not really being a fan. lol
I love the climate and the landscape and there are a handful of people I love dearly who live there.
I dislike the smog and dirtiness, the car culture, the expense, the pretension, the focus on looks, and on and on.

It's nice to visit on occasion, but I can't imagine living there.

Great place to visit, but I couldn't live there. Earthquakes, mudslides, brush fires & riots aren't my thang. Plus you need a car to get around. In NYC, I can go from the Bronx to Queens for two bucks.

But it's cold! I'm so sick of the shitty weather. I really think I have seasonal depression...that is why I vacation so much. So I won't kill myself.

First, I'm going to note my alzheimer's kicking in again, It's a FUN place to visit.

It's not green enough for me. It's so much greener here, though it's tons of eucalyptus trees which lend a unique shade of green to the landscape, I really notice the difference and it affects my psyche in big ways, too much concrete makes it depressing on sight. Driving the freeways really makes the difference stand out.

C'mon, it's not that bad in the Northeast. It's only cold a few months out of the year. And aside from an occasional noreaster, we don't get the crazy weather other parts of the country get. I like seasons.

Yes. It. Is. This winter has been awful, so gloomy and we had like 5 or 6 snow storms. Today is going to be the best day out of the whole week...it rained yesterday and will again from Wed-Sat. I can't take it! And when you're in the city you get that whipping cold wind....no me' gusta!

Well I won't be living on a cliff so mudslides are out...I'll avoid the areas where the fires usually start and pray that we don't get a bad earthquake biggrin

I'm just sooooo over the cold and dreary weather. It really makes me sad.

LA just makes me appreciate San Diego all the more. Better weather, less smog, easier traffic, and you can be up in LA any time you want.

It's too concrete now. So much is paved over now.

Love it, but wouldn't want to live there.

I was there this past summer. My family and I had so much fun.

I love Huntington Beach giggle It's my sentimentally favorite beach.

Dude, are you in NY? New York weather is so much milder than New England. Massachusetts weather is like death. It's freezing six months out of the year, and the ice and snow can be out of control! In NY it's warm by April. In Boston it's still cold in June some years!

LA gets a bad rap here in the Bay Area.

I was born & raised in LA (Malibu, specifically) and after living in Berkeley Oakland for 10 years, I can say it's not better or worse.

But for me, there is that Hollywood social climber thing in LA that always made me feel inadequate. I don't feel that here in SF/Oakland. I am never going to be the one who knows the great parties or dresses perfectly or has the best car, and that is really important in LA. Yes there are cool people, and yes it's a huge city with a lot to offer, but there is a sense that it's harder for me to talk to people because I don't have enough to offer in terms of style & money.

In that sense, I prefer this area to LA, but in that sense, many would prefer LA by a mile. It's sunny, people dress well, and there are great parties where you might bump into celebs.
