Anyone else here "NOT A CLUB PERSON?"

so yeah, some of my previous pictures may not show and ya'll may even just be surprised, but i hate clubs...




-the whole exclusivity of waiting in line and paying "just to get in"

-dress code conditions (granted its not like im barefoot wit a wife beater, but i cant have tims on cuz why? and i gotta throw away my chain? fuck yo establishment)

-mandatory coat check (more $)

-all the drinks are like 2 times their normal price, and im already tryna get drunk to forget how mad i am for having to be there (see: party)

then


-you get in and girls only dance in circles wit they friends and look at you like a dick for expecting to meet new people in an environment catering to social interaction; and the guys are looking over your shoulder like predators

-did i mention in a "good club" you're usually shoulder to shoulder?

and even if you do meet someone ...you gotta scream over the music

OH YEAH and the music is like top 10 radio on repeat





gimmie a nice little jazz lounge where i can get in someone ear

is that too much to ask?

anybody else feel this way about clubs?

The only time I'd go is if a bunch of my friends were going and we had a nice place to gather and sit together. Like the VIP area.

Other than that I really don't care to go.

I hear ya.

I go to bars and pubs. Give me a whole lot of people - tourists, locals, men, women, ladyboys, great staff, and lots of interesting stuff to see and I'm a happy man. No dress code, no price to get in, no coat check, and you never know who you're going end up sitting with, talking to, and dancing with - your group, old friends you bump into, or new friends.

I don't mind the odd club now and again, VIP service back in the day was fun but these days prefer jazz bars & cocktail lounges. Dim lights, lots of cushions and lounges, chill out music and quality peeps.

berlin in chicago on friday nights is great.

squeezebox in NYC was great when it was open.

a bad club, though...yeah, there's not much worse. i could be home watching a movie or reading or even SLEEPING, instead of spending tons of money to be miserable all night.

I have to be in the mood for a club and I usually only go to hear my fave DJs spin like Biz Markie or Kid Capri. But regardless, I don't do lines, I don't pay, and I must be in VIP or else I ain't doing it. As for drinks, I'm not a big drinker and having been a waitress I know how unsanitary clubs and bars are so I usually stick to Voss water.
