You can teach your kids whatever you choose but you can't force them to do anything. Plus, don't just put this on kids. Grown people don't use them either.

It doesn't shock most people, but most people seemed like their shocked cause our minds and society has conditioned us to "be" shocked even though we've seen this a thousand times before.

All I can really say is someone get that kid a job & night school classes.

If he's as serious about raising his new child as the article puts it then someone needs to step in and give him a career.

It is wrong in so many ways! I live in London and it is all over the news!
it is shocking when you actually hear him speak!

He sounds like a baby! They asked what he would do financially and he did not even knew what I meant!

Why is this front page news? The media needs to come to the hood. This is definitely not uncommon.

Why do the parents get the blame? no matter what you teach your children, they will do as they please. I know from experience that you can't watch them 24 hours a day either.

If people were honest about things they would know they did shit that either their parents never knew about or in spite of what they said. Almost everyone does what they want, even when they are young.

babies having babies. disbelief the little boy was asked how they would cope financially. He didnt know what financially meant. So sad . My 10 yo son looks older than the boy in that story. I told my son (who saw the story on the news) this is what happens when kids try grown up things. He looked horrified. We had "the talk" recently.
seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before music beret

This is really sad. Is it what we see on television and on the internet every single day that makes kids want to act grown-up and try it out too, without actually knowing what it is all about?

I don't know, but I have been very lucky myself. I educated myself and felt old enough to have sex, knowing what I was doing (although I wasn't old enough at all). By the time my mother wanted to talk about sex and ask if I had any questions I already had no interest in talking to her, because I felt like I knew everything.
But if I found out that my future children would do all the things I have already done at the age of 12 without telling me, I would probably freak out. No matter how educated, intelligent and honest they are, children at the age of twelve just must not have sex - it's some kind of instinct. I hope I can educate my future children in a positive way, so they can see sex as something positive and natural, but also as something that needs responsibility and trust.

I am looking forward to being a dad, but I'd rather wait for a couple of years longer than expected, than to rush the decision and ruin my future wife's and children's lives. I want to have children when I'm 100 per cent sure that they will have a good life and that they will not have to go through a divorce of their parents.

This baby here said he didn't know anything about sex and having babies before. Do you think it's the parents' fault? I'm afraid of making mistakes when bringin up my own children sad

This is all true, but I believe that, as a parent, you can have an impact on the requirements and the significance of certain things of your children. You'll never have complete control, because of television, their friends, ... but you certainly can affect the way they absorb these things.

Well, my daughter's friends are a greater influence on her than I am. In one way, it's very positive: she sees that her friends with kids can't go anywhere so at least that's a deterrent for her.

My daughter is 13. Three of her friends had babies at 12.

This story didn't shock me at all. In fact, when my husband asked me if I had heard about it, I said "Yeah, and? That happens quite a bit I'd think. Why is it such big news?"

It was only when I finally saw a photo of the boy that I really thought about it because he looks like he's about 8 years old. eek That's what it is I think. If he looked older than his age, or even looked his age at all, it wouldn't be all over the news. He just looks like a small child and that shocks people, trying to imagine a boy looking that young having sex.

The plot thickens..... now there are two other boys claiming to be the father!
In this story, it is claimed that the girl slept with as many as eight boys during the period the child was conceived. eek

Really? Well that explains that then. lol

I had heard that this kid looked really young, but I refused to follow the story (I tend to ignore sensational news stories when I keeping hearing about them through osmosis, but I always cave eventually) so when I finally did click on the link, I just couldn't believe that that kid was 13. lol

And here's an interview with that 13 year old and the mother of the baby..
Yikes! He REALLY looks (and sounds) younger than he is!

Edit: after watching this video and reading the stories about the other older guys who said they also slept with her I'm starting to think that the 13-year old is not the father..
He hasn't even reached puberty yet! Is he even capable of producing "the goods" since he hasn't even reached the stage of his voice changing?
Guys his age might be able to get it up but that doesn't mean they're capable of impregnating someone.

I think that's actually possible long before you're 13. Anyway, that she slept with that boy is sick.
