These hair bands were made from used condoms and threads.

That is gross, and hideous. Why dosen't the world band together and make China acountable for their bootlegging, low quality and dangerous goods. In New Zealand we had a recall 2 years ago of painted Chinese toys that had lead paint in them (Lead paint was not allowed to be made after 1981 here), and also a NZ dairy company is still copping a bad reputation after its Chinese subsidary San Lu had tainted milk formula with melamine, that has killed 2000 Chinese infants and made 100,000s very ill. Bad yes but the communist government is to blame for keeping it secret for months. The Chinese Politburo claimed they have announced a quality war, but we are yet to see signs of victory. Little guys can fight back, in 2006 New Zealand consumers boycotted Sanitarium after their peanut butter was found to be made in China after they stopped making it in Australia, Sanitarium apologised and reinstated the Australian product. What needs to be done is to reinvigorate the 1st world manufacturing industry so people no longer have to rely on 3rd world slave economies and undemocratic leftist regimes for their manufactured products.
