I hate it when "wealthy" people buy really cheap xmas cards. Like "Cleo", "Galant" and "Fantusy". Oh well, it's the tought I guess. I have this one friend who insists on hand delivering all cards. I think it's really tacky to hand deliver a sympathy card to someone.

I like sending out christmas cards and like getting them even more. I usually buy some of those little cheap christmas stickers from walgreens and take time putting them on the cards. I never understood the e-card thing.

It's always nice to know that people are thinking of you. but I'm not a Christmas person anymore, it's too fake.

i think email cards are lame, unless they're attached to an online gift certificate. even then they're still kind of lame, but at least they have some kind of utilitarian purpose. lol

i like physical, hard copy cards. we like to hang up all the holiday cards we get. what am i supposed to do with an email card, hang up a printout? i don't think so. .

christmas is not about saving the environment. it's about wasting as many resources as possible and feeling guilty afterwards that we didn't waste enough.

I hate e-cards. Its like you just think a pop up happened and the person clicked a button to send it to anybody on their list. I love cards but I'm terrible at getting them out. Painted is awesome...she sometimes makes hers and the card itself is a gift....every year I say I want to do that but it never happens....(sigh). To me, the next best thing if I dont get a card is a phone call and a word of cheer. Actually, I prefer the calls over the cards. nothing is nicer than an answering machine full of happy messages and I love yous followed by conversations reminiscing about the past and celebrating the current.

I did newsletters a couple of times but folks always felt like I was bragging....I love my life and I make no secret about it--and my children are friggin totally awesome loving people as well as accomplished--always have been. Its in their blood. For example...since my little girl was a newborn, she participated in a Harvard University developmental study for 4 years. Watching her develop, they determined she was gifted and were floored by her milestones...(she was tyins shoed before the age of 3!). Sometimes family members dont like when you share so much (HATERS!!!!...).....so I love calling the people I love most....and sharing in their years memories and accomplishments.....
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

I send out about 50 cards every year. We usually don't put anything else in the card unless we've had some kind of milestone event we want people to know about. Like on our 5th Christmas together, we put a picture of us in front of our tree and said something about being happy to have survived 5 Christmases together still in love and then wishing everyone good tidings. This year, since I released a CD, we put info in the cards about that.
