Nobody likes to talk about that though.

'Cause it isn't true. I won't believe for a second that, say, Andy Reid or Mike Holmgren have ever done that. hmph! Sorry.

The bottom line is there's absolutely no excuse for it. None. OTOH, he does have 3 Super Bowl championships to console him.

That's what you get when you kick too many FGs -- ask the Vikings. Still would've won the game if it weren't for that fumble.

Yea, they made plenty of mistakes. The officials missed that first obvious face mask on westbrook. A lot missed catches that could changed the flow of the game. Those last 2nd and 3rd downs donavan had AMPLE time to throw the ball or at least throw it away, and that last play was just disbelief

If u want 2 talk about calls, then take away 7 points from the Eagles 4 that pass interference call in the 2nd quarter where the eagle player pulled the Cowboy player in the end zone and the cowboy player was called for it.

Well, there were a couple bad calls on both sides. It's part of the game. All they had to do is hold onto the ball.

IMHO, Philly is this years Giants. Could lose 2 games 2 the Boys n then beat them in the playoffs. Philly has way 2 much talent 2 b kept down.

They will have a hangover next week but will be fine in the end.

hmm Were we watching a different game? They didn't run a triple reverse (or even a reverse for that matter). Do you mean the fumble at the end? That was just a run play with a WR running an end-around behind it. The Eagles run plays like that a lot. The idea is that you keep handing it off, pulling a defender away from the run, until you eventually fake the run and give it to WR. Anyway, I just think Donovan made a mistake. He played a hell of a game, though.

Umm no actually the jets beat the pastryots in new england Nov.12 2006
17-14. That's when bill belichek really started to show his anal side
with mangini.

Sorry, I meant on the road. My bad.

* With today's win over the Jets, the Patriots took the lead in the all-time series against New York, 49-48-1 (including a 2-0 playoff record). The last time the Patriots were above .500 in their all-time series with New York was in entering the 1967 season, when they led 7-6-1.

* The Patriots defeated the Jets for the eighth consecutive time on the road. The streak dates back to a 17-16 win at Giants Stadium on Dec. 2, 2001.

* The Patriots have now held the Jets to 17 points or fewer in 10 of their last 11 meetings.

Everyone keeps forgetting about the defending champs, but that's cool. When the smoke clears, my G-Men will be the ones left standing.

I still think the AFC south is the best as evidenced by their record
last season. It's still a long way to go and jacksonville and
indianapolis have started slow after two games. Remember 3 teams from
this division made the playoffs last season and the last place team
the houston texans were 8-8.

Last year, the NFC East was in exactly the same situation... except one of the teams won the Super Bowl.

I still say the Eagles will be the last team standing in the division and the playoffs.

Seahawks' Payne out for season, Wallace out a month

By GREGG BELL
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE -- Logan Payne is going on injured reserve because of a torn knee ligament and Seneca Wallace is out up to a month with a calf injury. They become the fifth and sixth Seahawks wide receivers injured this season. Payne is the second lost for the season.

Payne started Sunday's overtime loss to San Francisco but was hit on his right knee as he planted it on his only catch in the first quarter. Coach Mike Holmgren said the 2007 practice squad player has an injury to his medial collateral ligament.

Wallace was a big part of Sunday's game plan as an emergency fill-in receiver. Then the backup quarterback pulled his calf muscle during pregame warmups.

Holmgren says the team will be looking to sign or possibly trade for more receivers before Sunday's game against the also-winless St. Louis Rams.

Cornerback Kelly Jennings has a broken rib but will play against the Rams.

Seahawks add Robinson, Colbert
By CLARE FARNSWORTH
SEATTLE P-I REPORTER

SEATTLE -- The Seahawks doubled up on wide receivers Tuesday to replenish their short-handed passing game.

First, they made a trade with the Denver Broncos to acquire Keary Colbert. And re-signing of former first-round draft choice Koren Robinson.

Each player is familiar with the West Coast offense, a necessity because the Seahawks have lost five receivers to injuries -- Nate Burleson, Ben Obomanu and Logan Payne, who are on injured reserve; and Bobby Engram and Deion Branch, who have yet to return from injuries.

Colbert, 26, played his first four seasons with the Carolina Panthers before signing with the Broncos in free agency. His best season game in 2004, when he caught 47 passes for a 16-yard average and five touchdowns as a rookie.

The Seahawks will give the Broncos a conditional draft choice in 2009, depending on how much playing time Colbert sees this season.

The trade was first reported by Foxsports.com and then confirmed to the P-I by a league source.

Robinson's last season with the Seahawks was in 2004.

Robinson could start relatively soon. The free agent, who played for Green Bay last season, started 52 games for Seattle from 2001-04.

Coach Mike Holmgren values Robinson because he already knows his offense — unlike some of the players Seattle has recently tried at the position.

Last week, while signing free agents Billy McMullen and the since-waived Samie Parker, Holmgren said he’d welcome back Robinson after his past troubles with alcohol led to his release from the Seahawks in 2005.

But team executives apparently nixed that idea — until their situation at wide receiver became even more desperate.

Logan Payne started Sunday’s loss to San Francisco but injured a knee. He is the third wide receiver to be out for the season. Backup quarterback Seneca Wallace, pressing into receiver duty, pulled his calf and will miss up to a month.

G-Men are loaded on offense - I love our trio of backs(Jacobs, Ward & Bradshaw). And each brings something different to the table. Our FB Hedgecock is a blocking machine. Our WRs(Plax, Amani, Hixon & Smith) can hang with anyone. Despite losing Osi & Strahan, our 'D' is butter. Justin Tuck is a beast, the rookie Kenny Phillips can play, and the unsung heroes are the DTs Robbins & Cofield. I love the way Big Blue is going about their business, and not paying attention to the media. Here in NYC the talk is about Jett Favre, and the Mets.

G-Men should be 5-0 before they start the tough part of their schedule(and it is brutal).

If they ran that same play in the middle of the field, it would have had a better chance of success. That said, it was the wrong play 2 run at the wrong time.

Considering they became only the 2nd NFC wild-card team to win the conference championship, winning the division usually means a great deal. Are you really under the impression that winning 3 straight road playoff games is such an easy feat?

Maybe the G-Men started a new trend last season? I think the better team will win everytime and while being the home team gives you an advantage it doesn't automatically insure a W.

99% of the time, the better team is the one playing at home because it has a better record. smile
