Damn sick and tired of election-year tactics...

I am getting DAMN SICK AND TIRED of these ELECTION-YEAR TACTICS like pushing for US off-shore drilling, and certain presidential candidates/soon-to-be-ex-presidents trying to sneak nuclear power back in the dinner table conversation. (Whoever said that elephants were stronger than mules?) We are being thrown a pretty big catch of red herrings, but I'm telling you, orgers, do not fall for falling gas prices and don't be shined on by the glimmer of housing relief bills being passed (unless you want four more years of cowboys and fairy tales, that is...)

I dig it, tho, that though McCain is trying everything in his power to get under Obama's skin (in latest ad comparing Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton) Obama isn't taking the bait (Obama's response: "He doesn't seem to have anything positive to say about himself...all he seems to do is pick at me.") I guess McCain never learned the only lesson more valuable than "a moving target is hardest to hit," - namely, moving targets are easy to knock down when they tire out.

WTF was Obama is europe last week? I noticed no one in the Politics forum mentioned it (typical Americans LOL), but I guess Obama really wants to make an impact. Brother gotta win first LOL.

Still, he may not be Kennedy, but he obviously wants to create an image that he is going to change things or whatever. US/europe relations in general have been pretty bad for at least a few years apparantly.

No harm in wanting change, but he lacks charisma. Having said that, Englands current leader Gordan Brown has no charisma, and in a way, its good just to have no fakery or PR bullshitting that some politicans do. I hope Obama doesn't turn out all fake smiles and even faker promises. Hyperbole and politics do not mix.

Lacks charisma? I see tons of charisma in him - depends on what you use to define charisma. He is a terrific orator, plus brings his wife into the picture full-on (to name a few), and that's charisma to me.

That's why he was last on Obama's 'to visit' list lol

I like the Bamster ... Lord knows he will not change everything himself but I see him as the catalyst of change that America and the world needs. Now lets hope he lives up to that pray

And now, according to the article at the above link, McCain is saying Obama is playing the race card. Here's an brief excerpt below:

"Obama long has talked about his physical appearance in speeches, but McCain advisers argue he crossed a significant line by accusing the GOP of scare tactics and alluding to his own race in the same breath."

So I guess it all boils down to a case of "but ya ARE, Blanche, ya ARE!" Ol' "Clean Coal" McCain is in for such an intellectual ass-whoopin'. And I for one am looking forward to it. BOY OH BOY am I looking forward to it.

Don't start ironing your inaugural gown just yet, hon. We're a looooong way from November.

Now reading that he's using the same attack tactics that were used against him (and that he vowed he wouldn't use) - amounts to him basically trying to provoke a fight, and then we'll all see Obama's strength (what he used with Alan Keyes) - he knows when to call it like it t-i-s. But for all that he's accusing Obama for, he's just as guilty of similar things himself.
