It was a birthday gift from Anxy. smile

At first I thought it was some kind of veiled insult, but it's actually a charming little book.

What do you think of the Bowie book? Are there lots of pictures in the book?

There are practically NO pictures at all, which is disappointing. But the book itself is great. It's a very academic and scholarly look at that fucked up time in his life.

Anxiety

This book is kind of a bummer but I'm enjoying it. It's not as addictive a read as "Dangerous Skin", but it's interesting enough for me to want to get to the end of the story to find out what he's on about. It's also one of those confounding books where the main character has the same name as the author and you end up wondering what's fiction and what's autobiography. This could easily be annoying, but I don't feel too distracted by it. The book has a "PS" section in the back with author interviews, but it doesn't help much in figuring out the fiction/autobio question. Oh well. The story's good enough that it doesn't matter.

If you liked the movie/book "Mysterious Skin", this is worth checking out. I'm happy Scott Heim is writing again and I hope he keeps at it. nod

this book is like a decadence beauty. a velvety voice that tales of sordid events. feverishly it takes you to somewhere else...*drum rolls*

Jean Genet's The Miracle of the rose.

of course i could not find a big enough picture of the book. but do please read genet.

What the fuck is a horse anyways? It looks like a really deformed beaver. You should probably pay more attention to these types of things.
