I ain't got a lot of money but I'm going to spend it on me! I'm going to get a new computer.
I'm going to use my lovely stimulus check to purchase it, about $600. I'm like one with a AMD Dual Core processor. An recommendations in that price range? No More Haters on the Internet.

http://www.newegg.com/Pro...6883109008 If your just doing internet browsing, home office stuff, music & photo, etc. etc.--general use, try the system above. Compaq's come with system restore CDs which are easy to use. Also it's dual-core and had Wndows Vista, which I'm no fan of--but MS will probably stop supporting XP soon. the $419 price tag is nice too. I also like New Egg's easy 30 day return policy.

If you're willing to spend between 500 and 600, the Mac Mini is really cool.

You can use your own keyboard/monitor, and this mini serves as your CPU. Of course, the new rumored mini will be nicer, and this specific version will likely be sunsetted soon. Rumor has it the new Mini will actually seperate the videocard from the motherboard

I mean, even though it had lackluster reviews and receptions, it's still the most commonly bundled OS on new computer hardware, which I'm sure sell at a brisk rate. My company just takes them, and reformats the drive with our own branded version of XP. No intentions of going to Vista.

XP is not sold on shelves anymore, most OEM PC's for retail have Vista and people are forced to adopt at home but business ... no way they're gonna force-feed UAC, Ai-ai-Aero and all the 'features' on their big customers. Why do you think they added NAP (Network Access and Protection) support to XP SP3 ? They are that 2008 server will catch on. And don't get me started on Exchange 2007 64-bit support only Migration is a bitch but at least you can call your mailbox and listen to spam sorry
