The Dark Knight trailer

http://www.atastefortheth...efault.htm

Thoughts?

The more I see Chris Nolan's version of the Joker, the more I hate/love it!! I really dislike, as stated in previous posts, the fact that the Joker's look is more based on "The Crow's" makeup than on the chemical bath that gave the Joker his unique look. However, I do think that they have captured the homicidal psychotic aspect of the character.

Oh I long for the simpler days of Caesar Romero in white face paint (with his moustache covered as well)...

I only care about whether he is funny or not. I can see they are going for a more disturbing version of Joker, but if he is not funny in a sick way then he is just another psycho and that is boring...and the Joker is not boring.
clever clever quotation - attention getting quote - sad yet witty remark - look at me! Im deep quote- song lyric about my ex cause that bitch stole my mp3 player! - line from movie I liked - Prince lyric - not very clever sig mocking other sigs

His look....i don't like, he looks like Erin does on a Saturday morning. The smudged makeup...he looks like he's had one beer too many, been riding the porceline bus.

The laugh...The Jokers laugh has always been a big part of the character, what i've heard gets a thumbs up! so far, i'd like him to be much more disturbed and psycho...but as stated, he has to be funny with it.

disbelief I knew Heath Ledger as the Joker spelled bad news from day one...the Joker is supposed to be funny. In this he looks like an everyday run of the mill psycho, with bad makeup. Sure, this Joker is dark enough, but just way too serious. Nothing like the comics. He thought everything including his killings, were hilarious. Like in the first movie where he killed that mob dude with the hand buzzer. THAT was how the Joker is in the comics, not some serious tool-bag
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

(I was about to post this!)

I agree with Bobgeorge. I HATE the look - does remind me of the crow, or wrestler Sting mid-way through a match when he had sweated most of the makeup off.

But the lunacy factor does seem awesome!

Oh, and I also like this portrayal - although it's very different. By like, I mean I'm 'pleasantly surprised' as I still think they should never have even touched the character since 1989's Batman and '92's Batman Returns were GOOD Batman films. If they re-did Poison Ivy or Mr. Freeze that would be good.
