What are you reading? I'm about half way through A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini. What an incredible book. I loved his previous book The Kite Runner and this new one is just as good. This book is playing with almost every emotion I have. The women of Afghanistan are true heroines! [Edited 1/9/08 10:03am]

It's huge yet completely brilliant. It chronicles the relationship between Robert Fitzroy and Charles Darwin; the growth of their friendship and what drove them apart. I felt compelled to read it after my travels to similar parts of the world. There's Joy In Expatriation.

[Edited 1/9/08 10:03am] I got that book for Christmas and I'm excited to read it. I just finished 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' by Mohsin Hamid, which was a very good but very sad book. The beginning is boring but it quickly picks up and I really couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it. Right now I'm reading 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' by James Harriot. It's a nice relaxing and heartwarming read...especially after 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'.

I'm reading Act of Treason by Vince Flynn, in a long line of political spy thrillers starring the black ops operative known as Mitch Rapp.

I love Edith Wharton. The Age of Innocence and The Buccaneers are both excellent, as well. If you like that stuff, you might also enjoy a long-lost Louisa May Alcott book, The Inheritance. It was written in 1849, then lost until its publication in 1997. It's a bit more gothic in feeling than the Wharton books, but a real page-turner nonetheless. It's decent, probably take you all of ten minutes to read! My Legacy
