I lost all my friends when I dumped my first boyfriend. They thought I was mean. He had broke up with me twice before, and I was just beating him to the next time

But it was OK! My new friends are HEAPS nicer

Oh, I have been there as well. He was so angry that I ended it he made up a bunch of crap and started spreading nasty rumours about me.

Things like that used to bother me when I was younger, but I really don't give a shit what a bunch of ignorant fuckers think about me. Not giving into his pathetic attempts to get attention made my life so much easier in the end.

Im sorry... been there done that...

I lost almost all of our mutual friends because I was the one that moved out and got my own place so therefore everyone assumed that I had done something wrong.
We did not tell any friends or family about our issues so they were left to assume.
Which is fine. In the end I am glad that they were there to support him through everything.

Real friends will take the time to understand both sides and do their best not to pass judgement.
But sometimes it's hard. My two best friends broke up this year, I was honestly as close with both of them as one can be to a friend. As hard as it is to walk the line down the middle, you're bound to have a slip up or two.
I don't know anything about your relationship, but in my case, a family was breaking up, changing. It's hard for everyone involved.
