ive got a 360 and a Wii...and will eventually get a PS3 when they get cheaper and get more games that interest me.....GT 5 and MGS4!!!

I play my 360 a lot more as the Wii doesnt have a lot of its killer games out just yet, although Mario Galaxy is quite fun..but its no Mario Kart of Smash Bros! And unless your a graphics whore which im not the Wii is the way to go.

But COD 4 is an awesome game no matter what console/PC as a matter of fact the PS3 version of COD4 can have 32 people in online maps, whereas the 360 can only have 18 sad

Oh and i would hardly call a gaming console an "investment" its not like 3 years down the track you can sell it for 5 times its value or anything razz

true it's hardly an investment but I do want to get more than 3 years out of it for the money I'm going to spend on it. I realize that may sound crazy considering it's a game but still that's how I'm also looking at this.

Yes, the Xbox is the best console of the 3. Sales figures also reflect this.

Are you talking about these sales figures?

Wii = 19.20 Mil in ONE year
Xbox360 = 16.02M Mil in TWO years

And do you have a HDD version? if so did you keep it or send it with your 360? ive heard people have sent it with theirs and gotten completely new 360s and have had to do everything again eg save games, and even have to REBUY! xbox arcade games sad

Very interesting. That's pretty poor on Microsoft's part. Some of those people have reported sending their xbox360 back 3 or 4 times over that problem. hmmm

Here ps3s are around $440, is that cheap? Games are $40 to $60. I'm thinking maybe I'll get one sometime later this year. I just gave away my ps2 with 50+ copied games to a friend of the family. You can still sell them here with that many games for over $150 though.

i find it really sad that they are still making PS2 games, sure they arnt making as many as they were, but none the less i feel it is why the PS3 isnt doing as good as it could!

I mean they have hardly tapped into the consoles true power yet! and if people are too lazy to start saving up cash to upgrade to the new generation of consoles than thats their bad luck, Sony should not cater to them. Sure they are still making a killing out of selling the PS2 but i dont see why they cant let it go already....

Here in Thailand kids can't afford to buy ps3 games so the copied games you can get for the ps2 are a godsend. Hell, I can't afford to buy ps3 games! lol

$2 a game as opposed to $60. hmmm

lol hey i got no problem with that, i used to get people who went over to Asian countries to hook me up with all the dodge copies of games i wanted. Sure not everyone is in the best situation moneywise. But in terms of consumer value i think Sony need to really get their heads outta their asses and work it out....and soon enough im sure you will be able to get the dodge PS3 games wink

The 40gb PS3 goes for $399 now, the 80gb for $499...and the game prices are in the range you mentioned...the 80 has a great feature where you can transfer your game data off of a PS2 memcard...doesn't come with the 40, but I like my blu-ray player, so its a trade-off for me cuz....

Statistically, Wii owners are also owners of another console.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Wii, but after a while there simply aren't enough innovative games yet

Microsoft just invested over $1bn in repairing that and moving Xboxes to a 60nm manufacturing process. Consoles that no longer suffer from the RROD should be out by Q2 this year.

You keep your HDD and keep everything unless your HDD breaks (which has not been a reported fault).

Microsoft will repair/replace your broken 360 for free.

I used to think video games were for nerds and losers. Then I read that the video game market is bigger than the movie market.

Now I feel like the loser because I cannot play a video game to save my life. Well, not the current kinds.

I rule on Ms. Pacman though.

Because R&D costs for learning the PS3's architecture are insanely high as it's an entirely new platform.

Xbox runs on a hybrid DirectX.
Wii is the same architecture as Gamecube.
PS3 is ?????

lol

It's got like 14 FPE's or something in it's processor, which is just obscene! Try trying to make 7 different processor cores work in total harmony with a graphics chip.

nod it is.

The average AAA-title for any console (bar Wii) today costs roughly $15 million to make.

I know he has been wanting it. He doesn't have many games for his PS3. He feels they haven't come out with much. Most of what he plays is on his Xbox 360.

I haven't played any kind of video game since back when Tetris was hot ( I find these things too addictive for my delicate sensibilites ).
Is this game still played these days?

Yeah, mine was bought not long after they first came out and only came up with the red ring of death recently. I rang Microsoft, they emailed me a UPS label, I packaged the console up and stuck the label on and the UPS guy came and collected it. 14 calendar days later, including Christmas and New Year, the fixed console arrived yesterday.

Not bad, I think. And so red ring of death not too huge an issue and Microsoft pretty hot on ensuring you get a replacement that doesn't cost the customer a penny.

I don't know....as a consumer, I just don't get a warm and fuzzy when a company has to spend an ADDITIONAL billion dollars on top of R&D and marketing dollars to clean up the mess generated.....

madden sucks on PS3. it's too slow reaction time. The also changed to buttons to control the players. madden 08 on PS2 smokes the ps3 version.
