I'm think I'll upgrade my son from the gameboy advance this Christmas. I'm partial to the DS based on the sheer volume of games and brain stretchers and the little stylus. However, the PSP has a nice little library and you can get PSP movies as well, so you can pop one in and watch it on the go. They have stopped making PSP movies. You'll have to buy a large memory stick and d/load pirate movies if u wanna use the psp as a movie player nowdays... You can also run MP3's and Movies off your DS if you were dedicated enuff RIP 1958-2016 Prince RIP 1947-2016 David Bowie

they're phasing out the 60 GB in favor of the 80 GB, but try and get the 60 because my sister says that the 80 GB requires some kind of memory stick to play ps2 and ps1 games...which will cost you more. the only thing that would take me over the hedge about a ps3 would be RE 5 & blu-ray....but i'll wait to see how it looks. blu ray and hddvd prices keep dropping, they could be $200 or less by early next year

But when I see commercials for games that look like movies they all belong to PS3 or XBox and many of those games are not available on the Wii. Is there a true ultimate system or does it just depend on what you like? Why is PS3 $400??? Anybody? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Is there a true ultimate system or does it just depend on what you like? Why is PS3 $400??? Anybody? the wii's hardware can't compete with the ps3 and 360--and doesn't try to. the ps3 and 360 games look like movies, but the play/enjoy factor really depends on immersing yourself into a game for hours and hours (halo, call of duty, etc). and, if you don't have a 1080i or 1080p hdtv, you're pretty much gonna see a ps2 or xbox game. very few games i have see on either system are what i would call true next-gen...they just look like cleaner second gen games. as for the wii...most games are graphically on par with gamecube/ps2/xbox games, but the fun factor is what makes this the clear winner (and it shows in sales too). anybody can pick up the remote and start boxing, swing a tennis racket, or drive a 4x4 jeep. there are longer games, but there are so many short fun games for adults who don't have 40 hours a week anymore to play video games. sooooo....if you have lots of friends get drunk or have kids, get a wii. if you want your games to look uber-real but aren't much fun, get a 360 or ps3. the bonus of ps3 is that it's blu-ray enabled, and the 360 is hddvd, but you don't know which format is going to be dominant, so you could end up with the next gen winner or loser.

I think I want the Wii even more now. let me add this...take tiger woods pga golf for instance. would you rather your game look so real that it looks just like tiger woods and you can see all the blades of grass moving and the sweat on his forehead, then you mash a couple of buttons to swing the club, or would you rather have a game that looks pretty close to tiger woods without the sweat and blades of grass, but you swing your controller like a golf club, and then decide how hard to swing for a chip shot,or a putt?

I have Tiger Woods '06 I think for PS2 and enjoyed it but I think it would be great on a Wii. I'm tired of all the crazy buttons on PlayStation controllers.
I workout regularly so I enjoy the physicality of the Wii. Then I thought I can't lay around and play from my bed when I'm sick or lazy. But that's a rare occurrence anyway. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

There's a 40 GB it looks the same but it just doesn't play PS2 games. I suggest that you get the 40GB or the upcoming 60GB because the PS3 doesn't have as many games as the Xbox360 or Wii(which has LOADS of games) "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. Oh hell yeah - I reserved mine early this year in like February. From what I've seen so far, it's insane. It's a closer version of NYC than GTA3 & LCS. I'll have no problem getting around.

I was playing Wii the other night. It's a great idea, I was actually getting tired from playing it. Stand up and it's a little workout.
And the kid who owns it is very healthy, except for his obsession with video games My Legacy

But, that's not fair. I don't have a PS3 video game that I am eager to buy. Only old PS2 video games. I wanted to buy a 60 GB so that I could be guaranteed a console that I should be able to play my PS2 video games and a possibly brighter future with up-and-coming PS3 video games of next year and beyond.
