Awww sweetie , enemas are VERY easy. hug. I use them for MAJOR digestion problems because I fly ALOT certain times a year for work (sometimes 3 times a week), and my system gets all thrown off and my body won't release waste no matter how much fiber or how many green veggies I eat neutral. The most
"po-po" friendly (that's cute german for booty) enema I guess is made by FLEET (they're at Walgreens or Eckerds druggs. The tip is very very slender, and comes pre-lubricated. Try to give yourself a two hour window after application for appropiate release time in the loo. Don't worry, you won't hit anything (the appliction tip on the bottle is the size of a pencil, at half its' length lol ).What you should expect to feel though, is a sudden, cool, "filled" sensation in your your lower bowel region, which after about 3-8 minutes you'll get the signal that you suddenly have to go to the loo very very quickly. And it's not anything unlike when you normally have to go to the bathroom to be honest... Hope that helps... cool

enemas actually completely unbalance your system and are a sign of disorder (even anorexia) for those addicted to them.

they should really only be used for legitimate cases (to clear the system before surgery, or medical reasons)

There is no such thing as colon cleansing, the colon is self cleansing, nothing stays in it. Colon cleansing is a money scamming myth. It's kind like throwing up to clean your stomach... but without the acid that melts your teeth.

ask a practicing, professional, educated gastrointestinologist.

I totally agree with you.

My mom has colitis and her Dr. has explained (in detail) how the bowels and
colon work. He told my mom that taking any kind of laxative can be harmful to the bowels and those that have problems should always see a Dr. before taking anything like that. My mom avoided DR's her whole life but took laxatives from the time she was 10 until she was 60. Because she took so many, they harmed her bowels to the point where there was nothing a Dr could do to help her. She's been through hell and back with many major bowel surgies and sadly her large bowel ruptured and had to be removed so now she has to wear a bag attached to her side for the rest of her life and she's in constant pain.

My advice is this.....do NOT take laxatives or home enemas unless perscribed by a DR. Think about having a bag attached to your body for the rest of your life! Not a nice thought and certainly not a nice way to live.

don't know about the question... but my answer is for both, any type of unnecessary disruption of your digestive system.

iHaven't had THAT done before lol

I actually had to have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy done a week before my birthday (last month)! It was due to some mysterious internal bleeding. Turns out they found that my oesophageous was inflamed (oesophagitis?), i had a 2nd degree haemroid and a polyp, scarily situated where if not removed, and allowed to grow, in my bowel, would have been a freakin cancer. Now i'm a healthy person, ie, i eat well and look after myself...what caused this...is what doctors and my naturopath have put down to bad bacteria and a good dose of stress.

The polyp and haemroid have been removed, and i came out with a lovely, charming dvd of it (dvd night anyone??? lol...i call it RPA: UpClose & Personal biggrin )...and now i have to go for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy every 2 years...which in retrospect is a good thing i guess, but it kinda slightly freaked me out at first (in a way that it made me think omg i'm really NOT invincible NOOOOO lol) and to take extra care of my diet etc! I am on a gradual detox under my naturopath's instructions which means i have to make this kinda smoothie out of this berry powdered stuff that will clean me out some more. Revita- something or other (forgot lol). My favourite one is when i put strawberries into the blender with it drool biggrin

Anyways, don't just clean your colon...clean your everything!! These days you just don't know what's going in your belly...and also pay special attention to the way you react to things because this can have an effect on your health too. thumbs up!

What about eating fruit & veggies instead?

Colonics & enemas seem like quick fixes. Plus they rid your body of good bacteria that you need.

TRUE. And these fads don't cleanse. They get rid of NO toxins. Only your kidneys and liver (especially your liver) clean your body through cleaning your blood. The liver CAN build up toxins (including vitamins such as D and A which can be toxic in larger amounts than nature intended), but no diet will clean it, only the lack of additional toxins.
