Have you ever been in a situation...

where you have a person who basically does things left and right to make you think they are out to ruin your life? Or, have you ever had someone who just does things that make you second guess yourself?

There's this girl and she literally tries every way to make my life a living hell. Although she doesn't succeed, or come near it it just puzzles me why someone would spend their life trying to make someone else's life a living hell. I've honestly never met someone so stuck on attempting to see me fail and attempting to see my life go downhill.

Has this or anything like this ever happend to you?
Does anyone know someone like this?
Or are you like this and have an explanation on why you're like this?

opinions please! confused pissed

when people put that much effort into making you miserable, it's more about them and THEIR unresolved issues than it is about you. the more you ignore it and ignore her, the more it's going to make her realize that you're impermeable to her bullshittery. nod

Also, they might hate themselves and see part of you in them. Or something. neutral

hmm, thanks. the only thing i've ever done to her was I liked a guy who was apparently her "best friend" who she also was secretly madly in love with.

Mind you that, I didn't know her. I didn't know they were friends. and, I didn't know she liked him.

Yet she continuously attempts to make me cringe.

but its good to know some opinions.

oh, and to answer your question, i HAVE had someone like this in my life. it's happened a couple of times at my job - once with a former boss who i finally complained to HR about (she was soon after "transferred"...heh, yeah, to the unemployment office lol ) and once with a co-worker who went so far as to accuse me of being violent, racist and sexist, which she said to my employers, right in front of me. once that little outburst went over like a lead balloon, this person has at least has left me alone since then. i've heard a couple of snide comments, but i don't care - like i said, that's more about her damage than mine.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It doesn't bother me to where I want to physically or verbally do something. I just don't understand it.

either the person doesn't understand you on some fundamental level, or you have something they feel they can't have. either way, it's about their perception, not yours. you're just trying to live a life. shrug

where you have a person who basically does things left and right to make you think they are out to ruin your life? Or, have you ever had someone who just does things that make you second guess yourself? Yes almost every moment of my days

I've honestly never met someone so stuck on attempting to see me fail and attempting to see my life go downhill. hug I hope for you this ends soon and that you may find something of value from the lessons

Has this or anything like this ever happend to you? Yes it has and does
Does anyone know someone like this? Yes I do, I am no longer friends with said person ... the other person is a constant in my life that at this time has no idea she is doing that to me

I had a situation like that in my professional life.....one of my supervisors REALLY and TRULY hated my guts....mainly because I carried myself at work like my shit didn't stink, which is the type of attitude a leader in the military SHOULD carry themselves with...in her case, she'd never held many of the same type of "in the dirt, on the ground with the troops" leadership positions as I or many of my peers within our unit had.....so she was resentful towards us all....we tried to help her, but her take on it was that since she outranked us, then she knew better....ANYway, apparently I pissed her off more than others with my arrogance, so she set out to try to discredit me at any turn....she failed miserably, but that just made her try harder and harder...and the one time that I lost it and went off on her, she tried to turn it into a huge deal....by virtue of her rank, I had to prove my innocence which isn't the easiest thing to do when the deck is stacked against you...in the end, I eventually relocated back to the states and away from that nutcase....

I guess her only motivation became that she couldn't beat me, so she would bury me....

Honestly, its probably because she has nothing better to do with herself but occupy her time consumed with thoughts of bringing you down.....you just gotta hit folks like that with some disbelief, flash 'em a flipped off, and tell them to kiss your booty!..... lol

...or you could always just resort to mindless violence such as chair, machinegun, johnwoo, stab and such.....

pfft, don't give her the satisfaction. when you return someone's antagonism, it shows them that you're thinking about them and they're having an effect on your life. when you ignore them, disdain is what REALLY burns their biscuits. the fact that all this time and energy she's putting into making you miserable doesn't mean a damn thing will have to eat her up until she finally gets over herself and leaves you alone to go pick on someone else.

Thats why I said "OR" Mr. Smarty-pants.....

lol

I completely agree that ignoring the person is the best policy, but I was just suggesting a bit of greedy self satisfaction before ignoring said perpetrator....

ooh, that is IT, i'm TAKING YOU DOWN, mister!!! mad

KIDDING! hug

you could put my narrow ass in traction with a flick of your pinky finger. lol

seriously, though - the self-satisfaction angle IS delicious, though i find that karma has a far better imagination for such things than i do, and it's better to see someone fall on their ass without me having to, well, lift a pinky. razz

yeah i know. i don't pay her any mind although i still ponder why. if the whole "Karma pays you back" thing is true, she'll have enough to worry about.
