Is it easy to learn to play guitar? I got a guitar as a gift...is it easy to learn? Are there any good websites to get tutorials about it? If Madonna can, I can!

madonna BARELY can! i think it's a little painful watching her play guitar. when the veins in her forehead start to pop out while she's strumming a string, she makes it look so difficult.

Guitar is one of the easiest instruments to learn basic things on, but like all musical instruments it takes a lot of keen dedication to master.
It is all about getting your brain to remember certain patterns and shapes that your fingers make.

omg, I love it! Guitar is easy to learn to play a few chords, I imagine it's difficult to learn to play well. I played a bit when I was about 12. I keep thinking I should pick it back up again. But I've totally forgotten everything I knew and it's really hard on your fingers. I don't want callouses. |

I myself find guitar very difficult to play, but that's because practically the only instruments I've dedicated myself to are wind instruments and anything with keys. I love things with keys.
Anyway. I'd love to learn to play guitar, though, and I figure if I can get my fingers and brain coordinated enough to type and memorize where the letters are on the keyboard, etc., then I can eventually learn to play guitar. You probably can too, if you really want to. HE'S COMING AGAIN

That's right. I recently saw a clip from that last tour, and it looked so fake and pathetic and look at me I'm Rock'n'Roll! Damn, I can't stand her.

It is all about getting your brain to remember certain patterns and shapes that your fingers make. easy to learn, difficult to master but it may seem nearly impossible the first time you try to play. Your fingers won't seem to bend the right way, and the strings will hurt your fingertips. after a few practice sessions your hands will adjust, and you can learn how to play the cords to hundreds of songs very easily but as she said, not just anyone can become The Master My Legacy

Bass is even easier to begin on (and of course hard to master) But you could play Controversy right now "thump thump thump thump..." (top string, 2nd fret) [Edited 3/14/07 12:39pm] My Legacy

Bass is easier to learn than guitar if you ask me. But it'll take you some time to learn guitar, depending on what style you wish to play. For example, if Jazz guitar will take a little longer to study than Punk. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Also, you have to develop the fingers for it. If your fingers are delicate, then you need to put some calluses into them to really get into the fretboard. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

It all depends on how much you put into it. It's definitely a lot of fun - I've been playing for quite a while, and I learn something new (about music and myself) everytime I pick the instrument up.
Give it a try and have fun My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth
