Has A Restaurant Or A Fast Food Place Ever Messed Up Your Food Order?

That just happened to me today, I bought a grilled chicken caesar salad. I got it home, opened it up, and came to find that they neglected to put the chicken on it. doh! pissed They're going to hear about it tomorrow, that's for sure. since they didn't give me what I paid for (idiots!). When this happens to you, do you let it go, or do you tell the restaurant about it? I always tell them, since I feel like it's their fault that they screwed up my order, and dammit, I want what I paid for.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

nod That's what happened to me today, I didn't realize it until I got home. Usually I check the order before leaving, but didn't today, for some strange reason.

I ordered a Papa Johns pizza with Grilled Chicken on it.
Paid the delievery guy, took the pizza the kitchen, opened it up and it was a Barbeque Chicken and Bacon pizza. Barbeque Sauce all over it barf

I was sooo mad. I was already hungry and cranky.
I called them and they delivered another pizza. TWO delivery guys showed up, I think they were afraid I was gonna kick the guys ass.

One time I ordered a pizza and the guy forgot my 2 liter soda. He went to the store and bought one.

Yeah. shrug I hate it when they don't give me my sandwiches plain and put mustard on them. Sometimes I think it's cheese at first so I take a bite...it makes me really irritated. A serious pet peeve of mine...their job is to get your order correct, isn't it? A mistake here and there, OK...but I've noticed certain workers constantly making mistakes...disbelief

I ordered a breakfast sandwhich at McDonalds and I told them to please make it fresh; I'll wait. So after waiting about ten minutes, they handed me the bag and I drove home, got upstairs opened the wrapper of the sandwhich and the bagel was completely burned, it was black. I was really, really upset not to mention it was a winter morning and extremely cold out. I drove back to McDonalds walked in,took the bagel out of the bag unwrapped it and sort of threw it on the counter and said what is this! Do you expect me to eat that, I wouldn't feed that to a dog! Then I told them that they waisted 20 minutes of my time and gas driving to and from the restaurant twice and then had the nerve to serve me that. The manager appologized more than once, yelled at the person making the sandwiches and refunded my money for the sandwich and made me a fresh one and gave me a beverage as well.

This was NOT the first time they had done something like this with a breakfast order and I was finally fed up. Normally, I'm very calm and just tell them nicely what is wrong. But after about six times of screw ups,I had had enough. lol

There was grass in his drink! They asked if he wanted another. He said "NO!! There will probably be dirt in that one!"

On vacation in MN about five years ago we went to Bakers Square for breakfast. It took about 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order. We ordered something quite simple eggs, toast, hash browns and orange juice. The server wasn't happy to begin with, not sure why she had an attitude. We had been patiently waiting for an hour now!! She finally brought our food,an hour and half later. I thought this is ridiculous and I asked the waitress why it took so long for our order. She basically threw part of my order on the table at me, and said it's not my fault! Then she walked away nastily. The food was cold and I was pi$$ed that she threw my plate down on the table. I got up from the table walked into the back by the kitchen and said get the manager right now! Servers were asking can I help you and I said no, get the mangager immediately!

Then I told him how rude the waitress was right from the start and to throw my plate on the table. I said why should it take so long to get eggs? He told me the cook had called off, that he had gone out the night before and he had drank too much. That's really lovely! So then he apologized and said he would personally make the food and there would be no charge. I said I don't even feel like eating now! I wanted to leave but the people with me still wanted to eat there. The manager made the food and delivered it to our table within 10 minutes.

Then I said you really need to have talk with your server. I've never experienced a server like that in my entire life. The manager said this isn't the first time we've had a problem with her and I will be having a talk with her. We were eating the food and then I saw the manager pull the waitress aside to talk with her, the next thing I saw was the server putting on her coat and going home. By this time about three of the other servers had come over to our table and said she has a terrible attitude and it's very nice. So then they are apologizing for her,and I said you don't need to do that. I asked one of them, she didn't get fired did she? eek They said no,she was verbally warned and told to go home for the day. I think they said she is getting one more chance and if she doesn't straighten up she would get fired.

Yes. I asked for a two piece at KFC and they gave me a two piece with samonella food poisoning.

Unfortunately, I was throwing up for 18 hours and had black bile coming out of my mouth.

I called KFC's national headquarters to complain and they just said sorry and said they were going to refund me (Never got a check).

Thought about civil action, but there was no way to prove that "I got food poisoning from the chicken."

Called the KFC that served me the bad chicken and they said "Would you like some more chicken?" _____.

Went on to report that KFC to the Board of Environmental Health. And the restaurant had an "A" rating. sick

To make myself feel better, I basically stopped supporting KFC with my money and I tell my story to anyone who listens. I haven eaten there in over three years now and my family doesn't eat there either. So that makes me happy.

Is that comment directed towards me?

Look I'm usually very nice when a mistake is made and just ask for them to remake is correctly. But I pointed out two EXTREME and unpleasant dining expereinces. If servers or cooks don't like their job or can't do it correctly then maybe they should find a new job. I appreciate good service in any restaurant and I show that by tipping well. I'm not rude to people who make an occassional mistake but this stuff was really uncalled for.

Oh sure, many times. I remember one incident when I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and asked to have cheese on it (an option listed on the menu). Well, my sandwich arrived with no cheese. I politely pointed this out to the waitress, who took it right back to the kitchen and returned it to me, with the cheese. However, the slice of tomato had now mysteriously disappeared. confuse I was afraid of what would happen if I sent it back a second time, so I just ate it.

However, I have been on the other side of things... I probably worked in the restaurant industry for a total of five years... and there is a real problem with people lying about their order getting messed up in order to scam free food. I've got plenty of stories about this, but am too lazy to type them out at the moment.

well tonight they let us use 4 coupons at once (even though they specify on the back one coupon per customer per visit) AND they upsized as well!

Needless to say we drove away before they had a chance to say "hey wait a minute!"

Personally, I wish some of these fast food places would require anyone with a special order or a large order to go inside, rather than use the drive thru. There's nothing worse than being on a lunch break and getting stuck at the drive thru behind a soccer mom in a mini van full of kids making a bunch of special orders.

Besides the pizza places that simply do not understand the concept of light cheese, I guess the worst thing that happened was when I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich at a mall sport's bar/restaurant type. The thing didn't taste right and after 5 or 6 bites I realized the damn thing was only half cooked. It was virtually still frozen in the middle. The manager came over and they did not charge for the sandwich and luckily I did not get sick. I should have sued!

The ironic thing is that I didn't even need to purchase food that night. When I got home with that bad chicken, my mom actually cooked homemade fried chicken and my brother had ordered pizza. So there was plenty of food in the house, but I ate it anyway because I didn't want to waste food.

I woke up at 5 am with thick, glycerine-like horsespit hanging down my mouth and I was sweating. Never had food poisioning before and went to the bathroom and just started throwing up off of anything (light, movement, cold air, annoying voices/sounds, etc.).

The worst thing was I had to catch a flight that same morning. I threw up in the sky cap once I got off the freeway and once I was on the plane and it was taxi-ing at the airport, a baby started crying, and it upset my stomach so I just let out this loud gastly lurch and started throwing up in a bag. The whole plane got dead silent [including the baby :-/ ] and about 10 people started passing me barf bags.

I was locked in the airplane bathroom for about 3 hours in that flight just sitting on floor next to the toilet seat barfing.

I look at their ads now and all I can think about is tasting the black bile lining around my stomach.

Which Bakers Square was it? I've been to both Bakers Square restaurants in Rochester, MN, and every single time I go there, they either a) screw up my order or b) take so fucking long to get served that my stomach feels like it's going to implode. I've had more problems with them than any other restaurant I've been to.

Here's what happened to me. A few years ago I got some chicken at the ghetto KFC on Chicago avenue here in MPLS. When I got to my car I opened the box and there on one of the wings was a long, Black, Curly, Shiny strand of Jheri Curl hair. I went back in and showed the clerk. She said "It sure is, Would you like another order? I demanded my money back.

When I have a bad experience at a restaurant, I will not send the food, I will just leave. Also, if you email the restaurant's corporate web site you can usuallly get a card for a free meal or gift certificates.

Mostly, everything turns out just fine. But, after one run-in with a sandwich maker at a nearby Subway I stopped going to that location until I knew it was safe. He's gone now.

I ordered a BLT (Bacon, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich with only a little mayo on it. I get to the park, open it up, and the sandwich has bacon and mayonnaise on it. There is no lettuce and/or tomato. So, I take it back to have it made right, and the man is rude about it. He tells me he didn't make it wrong, that I asked for a BLT with mayo only....

Oh, dear... rolleyes

I point to the menu on the wall where it clearly reads "BLT", and underneath in smaller writing "Bacon, lettuce, tomato"...and I say that that is what makes the sandwich. He wouldn't listen, saying that I asked for a BLT with only mayo and should have asked for lettuce and tomato if that's what I wanted... eek I was thinking to myself; this guy is stuck on stupid and is telling me I have to ask for a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with lettuce and tomato in order to get a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. disbelief

Lucky me that for the cost of the sandwich he chose the "B" to work with and not just the "L" or just the "T". (They put 2 strips of bacon on a 6 inch, 4 strips on a footlong. That's not a lot, but I suppose the meat is where most of the money is at...)...

Anyways, I gave him the sandwich back, he gave my money back. After that, I didn't want a damn thing from him. He was mean and rude, and I haven't seen him since then.
