Niagara Falls is very nice in the summer... there's a lot to do, the American side has a lot of State parks and nature trails and the Canadian side is gorgeous.The touristy places can be expensive, but there's a lot of things to do that are cheap. You can get a day pass to the Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist boat, and tram rides for under $30.

Is Niagara Falls "kids-friendly"?
I've been wanting to go but am afraid of having 3 small bored children to contend with. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

Kids like all the sightseeing things. Lots of parks. Fort Niagara is a great historical place to visit with kids.
On the Canadian side there's a butterfly conservatory, Planet Hollywood, Clifton Hill with all the wax museums and Ripley's Believe it or Not. Marineland is there too. There's HardRock Cafes on both sides . Niagara on the Lake is beautiful. Canada's Wonderland is just north of Toronto and Six Flags Darien Lake is about an hour south of Niagara Falls.
