Wanting To Say Thank You.... Inspired by a conversation this morning with a beautiful friend...thank you.
For my mom: Thank you....for seeming to have a neverending smile for me as I was growing up. Thank you....for taking me shopping no matter how much I said I hated it at the time. I look back on those moments with nothing but appreciation and love now. Thank you....for giving my own daughter so much of your love and heart...for letting her experience the warmth from you that surrounded me as I grew up. Thank you....for taking a $3 dollar bike you bought at a garage sale, and sanding it and painting it so that it felt brand new to me. Thank you....for taking me to soccer games and letting me kick the soccer ball against the back of the house, even after I broke the bathroom window while doing so. Thank you....for all the "care packages" you sent to me during college...they l lifted my spirits more than I let you know. Thank you....for instilling me with such optimism...with making it possible for me to sincerely believe that no matter how bad everything gets, it will be ok. Thank you....for teaching me how to cook and clean for myself...you taught me an independence that carries me to this day, and allows me to share in responsibilities. Thank you....for showing me how to deal with having a marriage end with grace and dignity...and with honoring and respecting the time and emotion shared. I've carried the same beliefs and attitudes over into my relationships...and I'm healthier for it. Thank you....for causing me to see so much beauty in strong, intelligent women, thru the lifelong example you've given me. Thank you....for digging my drawings out of the trash can, and actually framing them and hanging them instead. You made me see a value in something about myself that I felt had no value whatsoever. Thank you....for wanting to understand me even when I didn't understand myself, even when I was mysteriously quiet. I may have acted irritated by your questions, but I was comforted by your desire to know me and help me. And thank you...for knowing how much I love you no matter how few times I call, or how few times I visit, or if my birthday card arrived a few days late...you deserve more attention and time and acknowledgement from me, so much more than my day-to-day concerns seem to make me feel I can give. So many people have "adopted" you as their own mother, and I understand why. They seek out and treasure your genuine warmth...I was blessed with it by God all my life. To Him I am greatful for you...and to you I am greatful for everything. I love you. And yes, I'll be mailing this to her this week... And to those I've come to know here...my thank you as well *smile*: Thank you....for everything ...and for showing me that even a year and a half away won't diminish what we've shared. Thank you....for giving me the warmest set of ears and most comforting shoulder at the time I needed it the most. Thank you....for risking so much, to give me so much. You'll never leave my heart. Thank you....for constantly making me laugh...over and over again. Thank you....for the beautifully timed compliments you send in your orgnotes...the sincerity within them is rare to find...and were healing to me at a time when I needed to hear things like that in my life. Thank you....for giving me your honesty, no matter how it effected me...I respect that, and you, more than you know. Thank you....for more music than I could possible hope to digest...it, and you, are a constant source of joy. Thank you....for constantly showing the world that sweetness and sincerity are valuable, and sorely needed. Thank you....for reminding me of my love for art...you're amazingly talented, don't ever doubt that. Thank you....for being such a welcoming host during my first trip abroad by myself...even though you showed up early...lol Thank you both...for all the emails we shared between us for so long...made my workdays far more enjoyable to receive response after response from the two of you...and they had me rollin'...lol Add your own....

You are one of a kind. Oh, and I agree, SpongeBob does not suck, he's just really absorbent!

It's like art stops becoming what you do, and becomes who you are...I loved the atmosphere that surrounded me in the art building, and later in the entire school when I attended CalArts. Felt like I belonged, where I was meant to be.

that's it! that's how i feel...sometimes more than others just because we're all at a different level of talent... i feel like i'm evolving into my own style and hopefully people will take to it better than they have so far LOL
