Have You Ever Had to Take a Drug Test Before Starting a New Job?

I had to do that today, for a temp job that I'm hoping to start this coming Wednesday, if everything checks out okay (crossing my fingers). Had to go to a medical facility, and you guessed it, pee in a cup. What's weird is that they don't let you flush the toilet or wash your hands when you're done. You walk out, give the person administering the test the cup, and THEN you can wash your hands. I know the drug test will turn out okay, since I don't take drugs or any kind and TRY not to take any allergy meds, unless I'm having a bad reaction to something.

I also had to fill out some paperwork, and had to list all of the addresses of where I have lived within the past 10 years (thankfully, only one), as well as everywhere I was employed within the past 10 years. Once they check everything out and everything comes back okay, I will be able to start the job. Wish me luck.

yeah, i had to take a drug test for the job i'm at now. the biggest thing i was worried about was that the yerba mate tea i drink would show up in the test as heroin crack dust or something. but it didn't.

Yes, I am a pro at peeing in a cup. My current job did not give a drug test though..

yes, i have, along with a COMPLETE physical.
My current employer didnt require a physical, drug test.
I didnt even fill out a job application.....

I don't believe in Drug Testing. Especially for jobs where it shouldn't matter one way or another what I decide to do outside of work. As long as my job doesn't require life/death decision makeing or where I have peoples lives in my hands other than my own, then I should not be tested.

Now if I were to operate... oh an airplane, or was a brain surgeon or something I could fully understand testing for those types of jobs. But for places like McDonalds, a cashier or even Comp USA to test is simply ridiculous.

Thank god they dont do alcohol tests.
