I used to have cats, I miss them. I love both actually but I love having dogs more.

By the way, not all dogs stink. I have ppl ome in my house allof the time and say, wow, I didn't even now you had any pets. It all depends how clean you keep your house, your pets, and URself!

I don't know why dogs get referred to as bitches, when cats are the bitchy ones, lol. I love dogs and cats, but I lean towards dogs. They are far more loyal to their owners than cats IMO.

I would never have the time, patience or commitment to own a dog. Too much work.
Cats, on the other hand, are the world's most perfect pet. Independent, clean up after themselves, and soft and furry and purry all in one. I still miss my kitty.

I have to have both. A couple years ago I had surgery for a torn retina and had to keep my head face down and perfectly still for a few days. My cats stayed with me the whole time . When one would take a break, the other one would be right there to take over and at night they both stayed with me even though they really didn't like each other that much.
We have an Australian cattle dog that lives for our daughter, She is Meg's self appointed defender and caretaker all in one little bundle of love.

Sorry to hear about your cat disappearing, naked. My brother and sister-in-law just lost a cat that they would let roam around outside at night. Not a smart idea, when you live in Arizona, where there are coyotes and big owls about. The cat was let out one night about a month ago, and never came back. The vet said that it probably was an owl or a coyote that got him. Another good reason to keep your cats indoors, because you never know what could happen to them.

I love cats AND dogs, but I would have to pick cats over dogs (although I agree with what naked posted above).
