swollen glands

Is there something to do about them? Or is the only solution to get sleep? I've had a very busy week, and didn't get the chance to get enough sleep. Moreover, I have another hell of a week ahead of me.

The glands (not sure this is the right word?) in my neck are as big as pingpong-balls. When I press them it is very painful, even moving my head hurts like hell.

No remedies?

Sorry, this had to be in GD lol I guess this has nothing to do with a lack of faith in God or politicians.

The problem is... I worked in a school in another part of the country this week to replace another teacher who has a hernia. I've been looking for a job for a few months now and I'm glad I finally found something. It's only for a short period, but I will have some 'experience' to put on my cv.

If I go to the doctor he will probably tell me to stay home, and this would be rather disastrous right now.

But hell yeah, if it gets any worse I will have to.

I always needed a lot of sleep. Actually, I need about 10 hours to feel really well. This week I could only sleep about 6 hours a day, and I was working from 8 am till 11 pm. So I'm not really surprised to feel bad. Just worried because my glands are really swollen and I can barely swallow or move my neck

I had the syndrome of Pfeiffer when I was about 16, so it can't be that.

What's this overactive thyroid? My medical knowledge is pretty shitty.

Ah well i dont know what that Pfeiffer syndrome is but we did this in biology. Your thyroid is the main gland in your neck that keeps your body's balance. It can sometimes malfunction, this usually occurs in your teens with all that hormone mayhem and it can be genetic. In general you feel tired maybe moody. The swollen glands is another basic symptom, but i dont know about treatment. But i maybe wrong, try and get some rest and see a doctor a.s.a.p.

Swollen glands usually means ur body is fighting an infection of some sort
it could possibly be tonsilitis especially since u said u had trouble swallowing
U will need to go to the doctor pretty soon
In the mean time gargle warm salt water.
Good Luck hug
WHY SHOULD I DO THAT, WHEN I CAN DO THIS
