Jessica Alba as Sue Storm? come the fuck on PLEASE....well, it's better than Bayawnsay or J.Ho....marvel always fucking shit up. Halle Berry's Storm was HORRIBLE...no blue eyes or African accent..WTF???? and she said she's not doing X3 unless she gets a bigger part...not unless they call it: X-Men3:Storm. i'll go see it anyway since i'm such a HUGE Marvel comics fan..

"Marvel always fucking shit up"???? Ummm, first off, Marvel is NOT a film studio. They license out their characters to different studios, so they really aren't part of the casting (Avi Arad is somewhat involved, but he doesn't have veto power over the director).

As for the casting of Marvel films in recent years, there are very few I dislike. I totally agree with you about Halle Berry, but the rest of the X-Men were dead-on. Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Famke Jansenn, Alan Cumming, etc. all rocked! As for the other films? Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2 couldn't have been better cast (and I mean ALL the characters), Hulk, while a lousy film, still had fantastic casting (tell me Sam Elliot wasn't "Thunder-Bolt" Ross brought to life!!!), The Punisher? Tom Jane WAS Frank Castle. All in all, I think the adaptations for the Marvel movies have been pretty damned good.

Now, I really don't know anything about Alba (never watched "Dark Angel"), so I really can't comment on her. I'm very nervous about this flick, mainly due to a script review I read of it. I WILL say that I think they could not have gotten a better Ben Grimm than Chiklis.

The whole "flame on" thing came about in the sixties, long before "flamer" was a term associated with homosexuals. If you read the comic, Johnny Storm is about as far from gay as you can get (he even nailed his friend's girlfriend). His power is reflective of his hot-headed, devil-may-care attitude.

Now, if you wanna argue that Namor is a closet case, I won't stop ya! I think he and Northstar should hook up.

AND I KNOW MARVEL ISN'T A FILM STUDIO. THEY MAKE COMICS!! BUT STILL, THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME SAY IN THE CASTING, CONSIDERING HOW WELL THEY MIGHT KNOW THEIR OWN CHARACTERS AND HOW WELL FANS WILL REACT TO THEM PICKING THE RIGHT ACTORS FOR THE PART. GEE WHIZ. Now we need to see Psylocke and Dazzler in an X-Movie, then i can die in peace. But seriously, Jersica Alba? COME.ON. I watched Dark Angel religiously and all...but i'm not gonna hop jump and skip my ass to everything she's in. And she's already in Sin City cop UH OH! UH OH!! OVEREXPOSED ALERT!!!cop and btw...i LOVED the other characters in X-Men. I've been waiting 4EVER to see an X-Men movie. It's just that Storm is one of my favorite x-characters, and Halle fucked her up. She was a better Catwoman. Tell Halle to keep her ass over at DC. holla atcha boi...

I would have thought Denise Richards would have played a great Sue Storm and the guy that played HellBoy would have been good as The Thing. I totally co-sign w/ Glamslam and Jedi...Halle was not the perfect Storm. Someone like Iman, Angela Bassett or even Lynn Whitfield would have been much better for the part...Being as how Storm is one of the oldest in the group.

But hey...I'm just giving my twocents

iman or angela would've been better. it's a shame that when people say "best black actress" Halle is the first to pop in people's heads. i mean, i LOVE halle berry, but there are other black actresses out there. and that STUPID ass quote "Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?" i was so bored by the movie at that point i was prompted to ask "No Halle, what? i'm dying to know.." then she says "The same thing that happens to everything else" Well, there goes her chance for coolest movie quote of the damn year. She should've said something like "IT GITS SHOCKED THE FUCK UP. I'M STORM UP IN THIS BITCH. DON'T MESS WITH THE X" and plus Storm is from the STREETS. Homegirl grew up in Cairo picking pockets and shit, so you know she can whoop some ass, yet she steadily got her ass kicked up until that dumbass line. And flying out the elevator with that one leg bent? Who the fuck flies like that? At least Wolverine didn't let me down..

No need to get testy. I've actually heard someone try to make a serious argument about this. Oh, and Northstar should hook up with Ultimate Colossus. Its pretty obvious he's queer as a three-dollar bill.

Again, no need to get bent out of shape. Many people DON'T know that Marvel doesn't make their own movies, and your statement was worded in a way that seemed as if you made the same assumption.

Now we need to see Psylocke and Dazzler in an X-Movie, then i can die in peace.

Psylocke?? drool I wanna see Beast!!!

Agreed. Halle sucked as Storm. Shoulda cast Iman, since she LOOKS like Storm.

She was a better Catwoman. Tell Halle to keep her ass over at DC. holla atcha boi...

Oooooo! I HATE Halle's Catwoman (or CINO: Catwoman In Name Only). The entire story is lame, and Halle is just too sweet to be playing her (besides, its not Selina Kyle, so its NOT Catwoman).

Denise would have been an interesting choice. Ron Perlman would have been good, but Chiklis is absolutely dead-on for The Thing.

Iman would have been PERFECT as Storm.

That was the lamest line in a comic book movie, ever! (other than ALL of the lines in Batman & Robin)

Agree again. She was a lousy Storm. Personally, I'm glad she won't be back for X3. Hopefully, they'll take this as an oppprtunity to get someone who actually fits the part.

So she gets your vote?? As I said, I'm not familiar with her.

Have your read any of the script reviews on this?? I'm trying not to take them too seriously, since I don't know if they are accurate. I just hope they get this one right. I'm hoping I can get my hands on a copy of the script to decide for myself. Other than the understated brow on the Thing, the costumes look pretty damned good (and even that I can forgive if the intention is to make him more visually in line with the original Kirby desing). Dr. Doom looks fucking sweet!

Well, as far as Sue Storm goes... it's questionable.

I think Desise Richards or Rachel McAdams would've made a more cosmetically correct Sue.

But seeing Jessica in those blue tights... I'm starting to overlook the fact that she is hispanic, and the comic character is white.

For me, coming at this with no preconceived notion about Alba, I can at least say that she looks the part (at least, if they are portraying her as a younger Sue Storm, like she was in the early issues). With the blonde hair, she just looks like a white girl with a tan anyway, so that's not really an issue.

What do you think about Dr. Doom and The Thing? I think the casting of Chiklis is truly inspired, and I like MOST of the costume (those brows do bug me though). Doom just looks great, to me.

Bingo. Alba-Spanish. Richards-White. That's what's not making sense to me. Come the fuck on for real. Just go ahead and fuck the movie up. I don't read FF any, i just like Marvels comic movies that they started kicking out. She looks like some fucking teenager. What the hell? Chiklis? I'm not familiar with his work, but from a few small clips I've seen, he looks like he'll pull it off.

The only thing I don't like about his make-up is the eyebrows. They should've went for that squared off, more familiar look.

I recently saw The Incredibles and really enjoyed it. Kinda hoped that Pixar animation would serve as a sly dress rehearsal for The Fantastic Four. But I have to say my first glimpse of the production is not inspiring much confidence that Fantastic Four The Movie will make the earth move in the end.

And Doc Doom looks like a dissecated Peruvian mummy that's been set on fire and burnt to a crisp eek

But unlike "Bayawnsay," Jessica has some real talent, and doesn't have to try to be sexy.

I don't read a lot of FF comics either, but I do know them and their history. I appreciate Marvel, and I don't mind the tweaks they've made on their characters. Some for the better... Spider-Man having his own web fluid, as opposed to having to create a web-shooter.

Now DC on the other hand... pissed I hate the new Batman costume, and the new Superman movie picking up from where Superman 2 left off... WTF???

Make a whole, brand new Superman movie. Without the origin of course, we all now where Superman came from.
