Before Sunset - Easily the best movie of the year

I've been meaning to start this thread since Friday, but do yourself a favor and go see "Before Sunset" ASAP. If you haven't seen "Before Sunrise" rent it first and then find a theater showing the brilliant sequel.

I absolutely adore the first one and I was worried when I read they were making a sequel but the movie is even better then the first. There is a reason that the worst review I've read of this movie gave it 9 out of 10 stars.

It is truly a perfect movie smile

My boyfriend keeps telling me about this movie.. He has said it has gotten really good reviews. It is not playing all over here in the US, only in selected theaters! I will be making my way to see it soon.

You know I just the first Spiderman yesterday and I couldn't believe how unbelievably bad the CGI was. It looked like a cartoon.

Yeah it opened up only at an arthouse theater here in the Twin Cities but it's worth finding. I will assume eventually it will see a wider release.

it's fantastic...

saw it back in june at the seattle international film festival. they aired before sunrise at one theater, then 'before sunset' at the best theater in seattle (if not the planet).

they only showed each film once during the festival... i heard someone who heard about it too late paid $150 for someone else's ticket.

definitely a must see with someone you care about...

Case

OK, I'm seeing "Before Sunset" this weekend in Ann Arbor, and so help me, if it sucks I'm going to be REALLY pissed. "Before Sunrise" is one of my absolute favorite love stories. So real, so accurate and so unpretentious. If only more people were like Jesse and Celine (Julie Delpy, I'm still waiting for your call!).

PLEEEEEASE, God, don't let this movie suck!!

OMG! I thought I was the only person on the planet who absolutely loved Before Sunrise. Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke are adorable. Both attractive in their own ways. The dialogue is very convincing making it an intelligent romace and keeps giving me the urge to actually go travelling and spending more time in Europe.

In some ways, I was quite dissapointed to here that Before Sunset was made. For those of you who have seen Before Sunrise and I'm talking of the ending (I don't want to give anything away), I hope you can see why.

yeah, when i posted about this here on the org back in march (link), a lot of people had that reaction. keep in mind it's co-written by delpy, hawke and linklater... and that it's one of the most well received films of the year. the reviews have been incredible and i can't recommend it enough to anyone that enjoyed the first film... smile

If you can't handle an hour and half of talking this movie isn't for you. But if you can you're in for a real treat.

Yes, kind of, but in a much much more realistic - not so Hollywood Meg Ryan - sort of way.

That is already released and it bombed something terrible. It should be available on DVD anytime.

The dialogue and the romance actually seem real. I almost felt like I was actually spying on a real couple.
