Money cannot solve all your problems.

Once it's gone grow another money tree

When you die you cannot take it with you, might as well spend it.

I say that if lack of money is keeping you from being happy you need to redefine happiness for yourself. Even though being poor can make life very hard on you, money shouldn't be the determining factor.

Whoever said money can't buy happiness, doesn't know where to shop. wink

Seriously, though...money can't buy happiness, but enough of it can buy freedom...freedom from stress, freedom to explore and conduct your life in pretty much any way and fashion you desire. Not by buying material things, but by providing you opportunities... opportunities to travel, to educate yourself in the best ways, to live life without spending energy worrying about bills or rent or "unexpected" developments, especially health-wise.

If you define happiness as being stress-free, then you can be extraordinarily happy even if dirt poor...having money, if nothing else, makes that process a bit easier.

If your financial problems stem from being unable to handle your finances due to lack of money management skills then simply having more money is not going to solve any of your problems.

Very true...however, very few people on the planet have money problems simply due to "lack of money management skills", though...that's a luxury only afforded to those who already have money... lol

Yes, true, but you have to agree with me that people in our parts of the world are generally still pretty well off compared to 80% of the rest of the global population. I don't think that being broke, bankrupt and/or homeless in our societies can even be compared to literally starving.

Sure there are people starving here as well, but on a much smaller scale and mostly due to a severe mental illness which keeps them isolated from the rest of their environment (often mentally as well as physically).

As Prince said " Money does not buy happiness, but it sure does fund the search"
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Sinister

I believe for those who say money can't buy you love or happiness aren't being creative enough....I will agree that because happiness and love are not like something you pick up at a store, so you can't just go buy some whenever you want like it was groceries but....If one is creative enough money can put you right by happiness and loves door. Let me give an example....

If you are in love with someone and you want to win them over, and try to get them to see how special you are so they will someday love you here is where money if you have lots of it can come into play....You use money to buy clothes so you look nice and make a great impression, buy cologne or perfume to arouse the senses....Anything you use to make yourself look and "feel" good physically is purchased using money....Therefore if you feel you look good you are more confident and are able to come across better to others, and that was made possible by money...If your personality is not one people find attractive or you have a hard time relating to people..... with money you can go to therapy or a group that will help you improve yourself....or money will buy the self help book or the television so you can watch Dr Phil or whatever to improve youself....

Money itself does really make the world go round....Just about anything we do is tied to money good or bad, big or small, it is a tool to be used not an end in itself....That is where people's thinking gets confused. And because money is but a tool in life we can use it in cooportation with our feelings to help us in love and happiness....Money buys the flowers and presents on Valentines day though the sentiment is what counts in the end the tool/money is what got you the sentiment which helps you get love. Happiness and love come from within yes and just giving someone a million dollars isn't going to make them fall in love or happy (well not everyone at least) but what Im saying is if you are creative enough with money it can in the end buy you opportunities and unless you have opportunities you are not going to have happiness or love..... So if you use money and you get the happiness or love you want and you use the method I spoke of then isn't the secret of your success money then?

Seriously though, money itself won't buy you happiness or love, but Sinister pointed out that it can sure facilitate the means to acquire them. Money is neither good nor evil, it simply is. It can be used for good or bad, depending on the person with it. As the Bible says, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. That is to say, that greed is what causes the problems in the world, not money itself.

If you are rich, but have a healthy attitude about your cash, then there really isn't a problem. If you put the money ahead of everthing else, then it will send you crashing down. If money is used wisely, then it can be a wonderful, powerful tool, but it should be viewed as such.
