Brinteys TOXIC banned......

MTV has taken there stand and has banned TOXIC from the airwaves at least during the day but they will show it after 10pm. This keeps getting funnier and funnier, i guess MTV feels if they BRITNEY during the day KIDS will see it and imitate her. So they feel NO KIDS are watching after 10. But it seems MTV hasnt banned any of their sexually filled shows such as REAL WORLD and ROAD RULES and Undressed and whatever else they show, I thought MTV banned videos along time ago when they stop being relevant to anything musical. Britneys label and management didnt seem to mind the banning, after all the video is Number 1 on the MTV playlist and the videoplay has pushed the CD into the Top 10 again. They did reply that "they hope they dont need Britney Come MTV video awards time" to help ratings as she has done the best few years. The double standards continue.

What source is this from? I haven't seen it anywhere and it's not on the MTV site. As far as I know it's still in heavy rotation during the day.

This was reported by CBS news on Wednesday and its all mentioned on The Britney Spears Site, BritneySpears.org

The Video is Number 1 in the rotation and on the MTV show TRL so I have no idea how they explain that because TRL airs in the afternoon. Just another double standard that MTV is running, but thats the way of the Industry, bought and sold.

Well, to me this falls under the "who cares?" category, since who watches MTV anymore anyway? Just download the damn thing. MTV is a cultural dinosaur. Every time something like the Janet-Justin thing happens they react ludicrously and pull about 20 "too hot" videos. Hilarious.

furthermore, in two weeks when the smoke clears, they will be back to their regular rotation.

Unless I'm in the presence of children, I don't really even notice "offensive" language in recordings, so maybe this is similar... but what is even deemed visually offensive in this video? It's pretty tame isn't it?

It's just a media ploy to garner interest in the song. It's the same thing with the Janet situation. They can't keep selling you sex if they actually gave it to you so they tease you with it and then pull it back. In this way it's like a drug for some because they want it but feel bad about it. Then they start acting like deviants to get it. It's all a part of the big media smokescreen hiding what the nation's "leaders" are really up to. lol

sorta. i guess you could say that's there's a good amount of sexual innuendo and then there's that part where she kills a guy.

lovebizzare

falloff
The first good song Britney does gets banned disbelief

I've noticed MTV has become more "parent friendly" when it comes to showing music videos, they even bleeped out a part of Maroon 5's song "this love".
I'd like to see how well this "banning" goes, isn't this the song teenagers made #1 on Trl? How are they gonna go about that? And why are they banning it now? It's been out for about a month. All because of the Janet thing people are starting to get all "christian". The same people the helped the "Sex sells" thing become so big.

And I must say they give these kids too much credit for being innocent...I mean who, in 4th grade, didn't know and talk about what sex was---without seeing it in a freaking music video?

Hmmm... Lets not forget that as far as the music industry itself is concerned, so very few people are buying. What are they really thinking when they put ditzy people on t.v. whining about being busted for downloading music then promoting Pepsi? If this so called industry listened to the bands and the fans instead of a symbol that truly holds no value if you think about it, they would be raking in the evergreen.

Singles are few and far between. Artists, Britney for example, are producing glossing covers with no substance when it comes to material. Videos being overly sexual!? Excuse me,has anyone watched normal tv channels yet? There are six year kids talking a better game then I ever will.

Banning Britney...whatever. MTV shows the videos the record companies pay to be displayed. If it truly was a music video network, we would see a larger range of musicians than what's hot right now or who come from the larger record labels.
