The outfit she's wearing is gorgeous (despite the fur).

I can't help it, though - looking at Janet's face anymore makes me sad. She doesn't look ugly or freakish in the least, but it's just not...her.

I agree with Anxiety... she's not ugly or deformed. But she just doesn't look like Janet anymore. Neither when she's chubby or rail-thin. Wonder what happened. Perhaps some subtle cosmetic surgery in the last few years? Dunno.



But for what it's worth, she's never going to pull off Lena Horne.

i guess when you're 37 you don't look like you did when you were 21. i look entirely different today than when i was 17...i mean, my face shape has changed so much that if i went to my high school reunion people would not recognize me...and i've never had surgery.

All stars do this. It's doing it well that matters (Michael? You listening?). Madonna's had her nose thinned, Catherine Zeta-Jones has had her eyes reshaped and her lips augmented. Jennifer Lopez has had her nose thinned and her lips done.

Sarah Jessica Parker's done an admirable job with her nose (look at the subtle refinements to it over the past 15 years). Even Marilyn Monroe had her jawline reshapen and her nose done.
