re-tried Cody ChesnuTT's "Headphone Masterpiece" again . . .

Decidedly underwhelming. I appreciate him trying to adopt a more organic, bluesy style, but dude's album on the whole is tedious.

He needs to hire ?uestlove as his permanent producer and go to work. "The Seed Pt. 2" is the best rock song I have heard in ages.

Yeah, I think he made a mistake trying to keep it raw, though it does enhance some of the tracks. I do have to give it up for:

'Michelle'
'serve this royalti'
'smoke and love'
'family on blast'

he should've taken some of the filler out and went with a cleaner sound. I am looking forward to his next release, he might come through next time. And yeah, The tweaked version of 'The Seed' is ill!

The concept of locking yourself up in a hotel room to record a double (!) album on a four-track deserves high praise in itself -- in these times of overproduced sounds.

Much more so if the result is as exciting as Mr. Chesnutt's Masterpiece ... IMHO, of course.

Keep it RAW like sushi !
