yeah, great tune, haven't heard from the guy for years, guess he's out of musicbiz nowadays... I picked up a couple of his albums along the way, but actually "Mama" being the only track with some staying power for me though...

He did some other great songs throughout the 80s...

One of the great R&B songs of the 80's. 1982 was great year for R&B music...so many great songs came out that year!!!

I really like this one. I know a cut-n-paste song that mixes the main riff with a verse from The B-Boys "Rock The House".

As for "Mama Used To Say" that song was the joint. Would you say Junior was a one hit wonder? I remember another song off the same album that got some airplay but it wasn't as big.

In 1982,Junior had another hit with "Too Late".Subsequent albums had a few more hits (the best was 1983's "Unison"),so I wouldn't necessarily call him a one-hit wonder.But his career peaked too soon.By the late 80s,he was over.
