I didn't know Lisa Left Eye Lopez was signed to the Row right be4 she passed.

NEWS - Left-Eye on Death Row
03/01/2002

Thursday January 3, 02:55 PM --

Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes has changed her name to N.I.N.A and joined Suge Knight's Tha Row Records, dotmusic can confirm.

According to her official website, eyenetics.com, the TLC singer met-up with Knight at an LA Laker's basketball game last November, where the two discussed plans for Lisa to record a new solo album.

An insider told Entertainment Weekly: "Suge told me that the last time he took an artist to a Laker's game, it was Tupac. That resulted in the Makaveli Project".

"Now he's taken Lisa, and the N.I.N.A. (New Identity Non-Applicable) project is being born."

Lopes, who has found fame as the most volatile member of TLC, released her debut solo LP, 'Supernova', in the UK last October, though the album has yet to receive a stateside release.

Arista Records, who have since terminated their contract with Left-Eye, now look unlikely to release 'Supernova' in the US.

Tha Row, formerly Death Row Records, have yet to confirm whether or not they will release 'Supernova', though an album by N.I.N.A is said to be forthcoming.

A posting on the label's official site reads: "NINA formerly known as LEFT EYE is now with us and will be releasing her solo debut album next year."

weren't some ppl from deathrow in the car when she died ? i think she was in the rear passenger seat which is odd considering she was the only one who died, i read quite a few stories about them arranging for her to be killed as she wanted out of her contract as she 'found herself'. How much of that is true however...,.

From all the sources I've read about it, Lisa was driving an SUV. But even if that is the case, I've always found it odd that she was the only one who not only died, but was the only one who was seriously injured (out of about 8 or 9 people in the same SUV). If memory serves me, none of the other people in the car had to stay more than a day in the hospital. But unless we were there we're all relying on the press for this info, so...

well it wouldnt be the first time deathrow were implicated on one of thier signing's death. suge isnt exactly mr clean cut. I was shocked to find out there wouldnt be any further investigations into it so maybe all this is just unfair speculation or just a strange coincidence...

Too bad for her to be mixed up with thugs like Suge Knight! It's sad that she was killed, no doubt about that, but if I were her, I would've run a thousand miles when Suge called.

i wouldnt even be giving suge an excuse to call me let along sign to him, but then he does have a certain way with ppl lol maybe i would sign with him, we all make errors of judgement. If some of these things i read were true (and i guess only two people know that now) lisa realised she made a mistake but it was too late.
first aaliyah left us then left eye had to go too:(
