Metal Metal doesn't get a lot of attention here.
what's in your opinion the best Metal group ever? Iron Maiden is my answer. (followed by Judas Priest)

Iron Maiden was tight and had a lot of interesting ideas plus I loved their bass player (who's name escapes me right now) The 2 guitar players Dave Murray & ? the drummer Nicko Mcbrain were a muthafucker! I hate to say it, but the best metal band goes to Metallica! I haven't heard any of their material after "Justice for all" but their first three has yet to be topped. I think they did a lot for the genre.

Guns 'N' Roses ("Appetite for Destruction" is a classic.)
AC/DC ("Back In Black," the riffs were incredible on that record.) Metallica (The Black Album is a bonafide adrenaline rock opus.) Living Colour (Corey Glover was a great frontman.)

Ok, I would've said Slayer! but I know alot of people find their message a little overbearing. "Reign In Blood" was the last metal album I ever bought, personally I feel it crushed any other metal album out their, including all of Metallica's shit. I remember seeing "Slayer" opening up for "W.A.S.P." and they had to stop the show 3 times because the audience broke the barrier between the stage and the floor. After "Slayer" was done playing most of the audience left and the people that stayed were all either sitting on the floor or leaning against the wall, "Slayer" had drain every ounce of energy that crowd possessed. To this day that show remains to be beaten.

IRON MAIDEN!!
they have released some CLASSIC records, especially Number of the Beast and Seventh Son. Those are my 2 faves. Fear of the Dark I think is highly undervalued. I really liked their new album too, Dance of Death. Great stuff!!! - cmg

Damn man you're hardcore! Why fuck around? Lemmy never bought into that pretty-boy bleached-out hair glam shit...I'm fairly certain he's not even aware he's in a rock band...he's just kind of a scary, wart-covered freak of nature that guzzles whiskey and growls about Orgasmatrons.

AC/DC, the best hard rock group ever Incorrect. Led Zeppelin is the greatest BAND ever period. AC DC is a close second in the Rock category though. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

The best thing about Zeppelin was Jones & Bonham. But my vote for best metal band would be Pantera. Even though Metallica has made metal mainstream, there isn't a band that can really touch Pantera in terms of beingflexible. They're harcore, funky, and they can even blow a little redneck jazz here and there. Great band. I heard they're breaking up, has anyone else heard this?

Angus Young invented head banging and he is in my opinion one of the world's best gitarists and entertainers. AC/DC influenced so many artists and in my opinion they are the description of Hard Rock. After the loss of Bon Scott they bounced back with Back in Black, one of the best albums ever, they never changed their style, their clothing, their attitude and they are still amazingly popular. And that makes them the best Hard Rock group ever.

Phil is doing his thing with Superjoint Ritual and Vinnie and Dimebag have their own band started. I can't remember the name of the band right now. I hope Phil makes a new Down record though. The newest Down record is great. I like it even better than the first one. "It's that Coqui 900, can I have me a sip"

Even though I'm not a monsterously big fan of theirs, I'd have to say Metallica. Their music was the shit from start to '91. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "
