Apparently the private concert he gave in '96 for the Sultan of Bruei was great. It was at the time of the HIStory tour, but bcause of problems with getting one of the three stages he used during that tour, they put up a stage from the dangerous tour, and he basically performed the dagerous concert with a few History songs. It's supposed to have been all live and pretty edgy on the dance front. IMHO the HIStory tour was his best tour from a dancing point of view. I also like the stage setting a lot. Of course the Bad tour was a trend-setter in world wide touring and MJ's youthfull energy and live-voice were overwhelming there.

As to why he didn't perform in the US anymore. The Dangerous tour was supposed to go to the US but was cancelled with the '93 schandal. The HIStory tour didn't go to the US (xcept for Hawaii) bcause:
a) MJ was disappointed with his treatment in the US media and the US public
b) his record sales in the US went down big time and 'the rest of the world' was his main market
c) the tour already ran over a year, and MJ was pretty tired by the end.
If u want to check out his style of performing around the HIStory era, please go to http://mjvideo.oyvindeid.com/ and download the Earth Song performance at the World Music Awards in Monaco. It gets overdramatic in the end, but it gives an idea about the way he was performing in the late 90ies.

Bad tour, hands down. Unfortnately the 2nd leg is the best with the best setlist and vocals, but there is no official full concert available. Only one from the 1st leg in September 1987 in Yokohama. That's alos great though, but most of the setlist is old Jacksons songs because the Bad album had only just come out (only Bad and I Just Can't Stop Loving You were performed from the album).

michael jackson concerts are nothing compares to funky jams he did live with brothers.
i have live concert from 1978.it's great.
its unbeliveble how funky michael was with his brothers.
tito is a good guitar player.
michael even sang "sex machine" during song
enjoy yourself.
and also there was incredable performance of"let me show you the way it supposed to go"

Are you kidding me?? That Human Nature performance was one of the only times he turned his mic on and actually sang live.. and his voice was flat and cracked. I dont know how anyone can go to a concert and the performer only turns his mic on for maybe 3 or 4 songs tops in a what 3 hour show??

IF I had to chose one it had to be his from the BAD Era!! He was on his game there! smile He could really dance, he tried all new steps and just had a ton of energy!

I'd say his first solo concert was his time to shine!smile

Yeah, that Bucharest concert from 1992 was a bit off. The stage production was amazing, and by the finale of Man In The Mirror he was on absolute top form, but it was pretty late in the tour and Michael needed that throat operation. The very early concerts were all live and great apart from Thriller - Thriller should just be dropped permanently from setlists, it never works on stage IMO.

I have been lucky enought to see MJ on the BAD, DANGEROUS & HIStory Tours & the VERY BEST by FAR has to be ...

The BAD Tour (2nd leg), all LIVE singing & the energy was incredible.

Second was the DANGEROUS Tour, the Bucharest Show(Full version, not the badly edited one) which was aired on TV is the BEST show he put on for that tour. He was so up for it that night, his ad-libs were off the hook!
