YOU ARE IN MY SYSTEM - who did it better? Robert Palmer and The System both put this single out, I believe in the same year.
Personally, I prefer the new wave version from Robert Palmer, but the two versions aren't really too different. Just curious if anybody else dug this song, by either artist. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

How can U even ask? The system is the original and the best by far! Nothing against Mr. Palmer but all his covers (that I know) stick to their orginals faithfully w/out any real differences...The System second album "The Pleasure Seekers" is still one of my all time fav.

The System did it better. Plus, Palmer's version of Didn't Mean To Turn You On just sucks to me,

I definitely prefer The System's version of that song. The updated version they did on their 2000 ESP album was great, too.
That said, I prefer Robert Palmer's version of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" to Cherrelle's original.

the version by The System-
the original, I believe- is better. I like Palmer as a singer, but I am less impressed by the cover versions he did of other people's songs; this 1 & "I didn't mean to turn you on". I'll see you tonight..
