Just realized Chaka's song "Ain't Nobody" was only released as a single or on the live LP I have "Stompin' At The Savoy." Didn't realize that until now. Guess I'll be stompin' harder. lol

Wow, Chaka Khan's "Stompin' At the Savoy" old LP sounds brand new after I cleaned up the sound slides on my old stereo receiver. Damn! No surface noise, clicks, or pops. You go, Chaka! Can't wait to hear more. cool music

Just had to add: I believe it was RJOrion that made me go back and listen to What Cha' Gonna Do For Me.

Chaka is one of my all time favorite artists.

Indeed the 1981 album is solid and underrated, and does't get enough attention as a classic album start to finish! Absolutely agree.

The I Feel For You album is what got me closer to her.

But I remember my mother loving the I'm Every Woman track.

Honestly, listen to it again... I mean this whole track alone is off the earth!

As if she stepped back from the mic when she starts to sing "I'm....", that space on that vocal part for me is a killing piece of fantastic music.

Also the strings make it so wonderfully glued together.

Not to foget the melodic piano... plus the layered rhythmic vocal "Wow-Wow-Wow" parts... damn!

And the way this song builds up and up... As if it never is going to end.

We have here in Brussels an old run down theatre, but still with good accoustic sound.

Once a month they play one vinyl album start to finish, with a break to turn the LP.

It's being performed in complete darkness with a super Hi-Fi sound.

No phones allowed, no noise making, with a short introduction before the session starts.

Once they had this 1981 Chaka album.

It blew all the hairs on my body up in the air.

Obviously the quality of the Hi-Fi set has a lot to do with it.

I recommend everyone to experience music in complete darkness with good sound.

(As a kid i put both speakers on the floor next to my head, and i lay down on the carpet, lights out. I remember hearing things i never heard before on albums by Rush, Stevie Wonder, The Police, Earth Wind & Fire, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd...

I might do it again tonight. wink )

This is the first time I've heard Chaka Khan's CK album ever not just on an LP--it sounds terrific and I love it more than "The I Feel For You" album. Terrific LP--maybe the branch between her Rufus albums and solo--I don't know. But I love it! cool
