My first copy of Donna Summer Live & More was a dud; this used vinyl sounds good so far... Loved this album back in the '70s!

Just opened up this album from a band Larkin Poe, a sister act, I saw in 2019. What a terrific album! Not a bad song on it! Gonna listen again. Great musicians, too. cool

Remember, when Elvis started his movie career, they tried to position him as the new Brando or James Dean.... before the โ€œlighterโ€ films he was stuffed into after he left the Army

Wings - At the speed of sound.

Wiki

Capital Records

Wings at the Speed of Sound is the fifth studio album by the Britishโ€“American rock band Wings, released on 25 March 1976. Issued at the height of the band's popularity, it reached the top spot on the US album chartโ€”the band's fourth consecutive album to do soโ€”and peaked at number 2 on the UK album chart. Both singles from the album also reached the top 5 of the UK and US singles charts, with "Silly Love Songs" reaching number 1 in the US.

20210619-170426

Cover and back cover seems to have some water damage along with some others I bought that day. The record itself is in great A- condition. Silly love songs sounds great. Each band member sing on this album. That ends my solo Beatles tribute ending with Paul who turned 79 recently. ๐ŸŽ‚ I haven't found any Ringo(Peace & Love) on record yet, but he's on Harrison solo album playing drums. ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‘‹ โœŒ

Perfect weekend to listen to the Police's final tour from 2008, which I SO wanted to go to but it was sold out. I just received the last copy of the LP recording "Certifiable" that Amazon had for sale. Wow! Feel like I'm at the concert right now... ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thanks, Joe Bala! I am so enjoying getting back into vinyl recently since the '80s! It truly is a different sound experience... Next best thing to a live concert IMO. I bought a few colored vinyl; the only one I've played so far is The Black Pumas, which I picked up from Target a week ago. What I noticed about colored vinyl is that it seems to attract more dust than black vinyl and that the colored vinyl had speed fluctuations during the initial play on new vinyl. At first, I thought it was my turntable but after I cleaned the stylus and played it a second time, it sounded fantastic. Maybe more debris left on the colored vinyl in the production process? shrug Haven't had that problem with new black vinyl. The colored sure is pretty though! smile

So far the cream of my vinyl crop are the unlabeled test pressings of my favorite P-Funk collection "Tear The Roof Off" I had on CD for years (see below)... Got them from the Netherlands for a good price on heavy weight pristine vinyl. The sound quality is amazing--so much better than the CDs or any internet sound files. cool

I've been finding a good run of Parliament and Funkadelic vinyl as of lately and I love them. I also have that collection on cd. I'll never get rid of it.

I'm rocking Sting's ...Nothing Like The Sun on vinyl. I've had this album on cassette and cd but this one was designed for vinyl too, I think. Maybe it's That "Q Sound" thing they were touting at the time but it is SUCH a well produced record. Sounds amazing. It sounds like the band is actually in my house.

Have a Sunday a rockin' Good day to all. โœŒ

Rick Springfield. ๐ŸŽธ

Living in Oz is the seventh studio album released by rock musician Rick Springfield by RCA Records in 1983. The album was quickly certified Platinum in America.

20210627-142503

In 1984, Springfield was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for the "Affair of the Heart" single, which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and #10 on the Cash Box Top 100.

The album's title is an allusion to living in Australia (Oz = Australia).
---
I've seen RS in concert a couple times and it's always a great show. I didn't get to see this tour in person, but saw the VHS which I rented. It's a great show and features basically all the songs here. It's by far my favorite by him. Great to get it in great B+ condition Thrifted for $4. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ™ ๐ŸŽถ

I took my son to see Rick perform with the late Eddie Money and Loverboy several years ago; great concert (even in 100 degree heat!).

'

Listening to the Stevie Nicks' career-spanning Rhino box set that came out a couple of years ago. Some great stuff on here so far.

'

My only peeve so far is, after two great duets with Sheryl Crow, why is there a weird duet with some man of "Santa Claus is Coming To Town"?! WTF! eek razz lol Doesn't belong on here at all. lol

.

Wow, just heard this song Stevie did with Dave Grohl called "You Can't Fix This" for the first time. Terrific song and recording. Need more like this from Stevie.

https://youtu.be/QBN2gBHk9Xs

.

Last comment on the box set--a few songs I don't like, but I highly enjoy it over-all. Apretty good retrospect on Stevie's career. BTW she will be at the New Orleans Blues Fest, if anyone can go. Great line-up of artists. I'm highly tempted. wink

I was listening to it today and agree alot stuff going on the speakers I never noticed before. It's my favorite Sting solo. I saw the tour for it and it was fantastic. That band was tight that night at MSG in NYC.
