Hollaback Girl is about... Courtney Love?
“Being famous is just like being in high school. But I’m not interested in being the cheerleader. I’m not interested in being Gwen Stefani. She’s the cheerleader and I’m out in the smoker’s shed.” - Courtney Love, Seventeen Magazine (2004) “Ya know, someone one time called me a cheerleader, negatively, and I’ve never been a cheerleader. So I was, like, ‘OK, fuck you. You want me to be a cheerleader? Well, I will be one then. And I’ll rule the whole world, just you watch me.” - Gwen Stefani, NME (March 2005) I heard that you were talking shit
“Bruise Violet” by Babes in Toyland “I'll Stick Around” by Foo Fighters “Starfuckers Inc” by Nine Inch Nails “Heart Shaped Box” by Nirvana “Professional Widow” by Tori Amos Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

In other news, Courtney Love has never had a #1 hit, or a top 10 hit on the US charts on her own. (remember, we're talking female solo artists, not the lead of a band in both cases here.) Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I remember this plus Hey Ya! (OutKast) & My Humps (Black Eyed Peas) constantly played on the radio. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
