A lot of people who use the term "Uncle Tom" generally haven't read the book it came from. It doesn't mean what they're using it for.

so what...alot of words are used with different connotations by different cultures...like the word "NI66ER" , for example...so again youre adding unrelated abstract commentary to a simple concept...as usual...but my point was still understood and factual despite that...

It's not a different culture. It's from a fiction book written by a white woman abolitionist in the USA. It's like the secret game in elementary school. By the time it gets to the last person, the message is totally different from what the first person said. People think Uncle Tom means what it means becasue that is what is passed down. What your saying is that black amercicans can't play classical pieces from Mozart or Beethoven and the like because that's white culture. What's next? separate restrooms and theatres for blacks or whites?

I wonder who came up with this "boy band" label. The first time I heard that was when *Nsync & Backstreet Boys were popular. Before that these types of singing acts were called vocal groups. The vocal groups geared towards a teen audience were either called teen idols, teenybopper, or bubblegum. Never boy band.

Hey, I just went ahead and saw Ted 2 anyway - GOOD movie! Slightly weird *treatment* of the subject matter, they could have gone further with the thing, but... still good. It's hard to believe, with all that Morgan Freeman and civil rights stuff, that Marky could be a racist, but....whatever. Maybe the MF still is.
