He also tried to ruin Mariah’s career and voiced that to fans at the fan party he was at. Tommy was indeed racist and very devilish

I think there should be a Justice for Butterflies movement where fans stream it one particular day or week and try to help it rechart. After all, it’s almost 20 years since invincible

Yeah. That would be cool. We should give him one more #1. A couple of years ago british Rage against the machine fans managed to get one of their song to #1 for christmas. If they can do that, we should be able to do that too.

I think the entire Invincible album is very underrated. The first half of the album especially is just gold. The run of tracks from Break of Dawn - Heaven Can Wait - YRMW - Butterflies - Speechless is one of the best consecutive five track runs on any MJ studio album, up there with the first half of OTW and the last half of Thriller.
I think things get a bit muddy in the second half, and I definitely would've liked to have seen songs like We've Had Enough, Xscape, Hollywood Tonight, Blue Gangster and A Place With No Name take the place of songs like Cry or Don't Walk Away (I quite like that one, but there was stronger material not released on the album). But overall, I would rank Invincible as one of his strongest latter day albums. My MJ album rankings go: 1. Off The Wall 2. Thriller 3. HIStory 4. Invincible 5. Dangerous 6. Bad [Edited 2/16/20 21:54pm]

Yeah. Someone who has a big reach should get the ball rolling. Probably not the estate, as many hate them.

There is a demo version by Marsha which Michael basically just remade. There is also several studio versions by Marsha. “It means finding the very human narrative of a man navigating between idealism and pragmatism, faith and politics, non- violence, the pitfalls of acclaim as the perils of rejection” - Lesley Hazleton on the first Muslim, the prophet.

I actually listened to that on my ChocolateBox Playlist, through my gold Beatz by Dre headphones earlier today while I was in the dentist chair. MJ basically just did the lead vocals and Marsha flawslessly is on the rest & more.
Also I won't participate in making Mj's version number#1 until this site and other groups dedicated to Prince(r.i.p.) gives Prince(r.i.p.) a #1 one single & album. There are PLENTY to choose from! "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

I just went back and listened to Marsha’s version, and it was great. However, I also listened to Michael’s version and his VOICE made the song. His vocals and his adlibs are sexy and on point. I am not taking anything away from Marsha because this is a beautiful song written by her and she is a wonderful singer;but, Michael’s voice took Butterflies to another level. His voice has that kind of effect on people. [Edited 2/20/20 20:33pm]

Are you from the US?
That song was popular because people (R&B radio and listeners) LOVED the song. The Trackmasters remix with Eve was well recieved but didn't get as much airplay/attention as the album version.
Sony refused to release physical singles for it and You Rock My World in the US (even though CD singles were still very much a thing in 2001 in America) so both singles got their chart positions on airplay only. You are 100% correct. Payola had crap to do with Butterflies. R&B radio AND R&B audiences absolutely LOVED the song. DJs played Butterflies DESPITE Sony’s SABOTAGE. R&B fans requested the hell out of that song. FTR, R&B fans bought Invincible BECAUSE of Butterflies. There were people who didn’t even know that Michael had released Invincible, because of Sony sabotaging it, who went out and bought the album because they heard Butterflies and YRMW on radio. Even with all of Mottola’s sabotage, Invincible still outsold most other albums that year. The MJ Estate needs to re-release that album. [Edited 2/23/20 8:52am]

It would be cool if it had a double disc and included songs that didn’t make the final cut, just like streetwalker and fly away.

It should also include yrmw with Jay z and butterflies with eve. I remember both were played in clubs when they came out, so it would be a nice throwback. Plus demos of the first 3 songs just like on otw would be cool since different objects were used to make the sounds. I feel like they might even outdo the final tracks, if that’s possible
