R. Kelly Responds to Sexual Misconduct Allegations in 19-Minute Song, ‘I Admit’

R Kelly has unveiled a new 19-minute song called “I Admit It” in which he addresses the numerous allegations made against him, including by several young women who say the R&B singer held them against their will, forced them to have intercourse with other women, and controlled how they dressed, what they ate, and when they went to the bathroom.

At least Kellz is being honest.

Punk. Who wants to listen to a 19 minute song? These are serious allegations. Be a real man, sit down for an interview and tell your side of the story. What is he trying to do? Make this his comeback song?

I listened to it- not because it was a decent song (it wasn't) but because of things revealed throughout the 19 minutes.

My jaw dropped when he admitted (and I had no idea) that he doesn't own his publishing and is constantly touring to pay (legal) bills.

No one seems to care about "Innocent until proven guilty" these days.

It sounds as if R. Kelly will be the next artist filling for bankruptcy. "4 managers and 23 lawyers"....damn.

That was a COMPLETE shock to me also! He said he signed it away. Because he didn't know how to read the contract. disbelief

That is so tragic.

That's cute and all, but where there is smoke, there is fire, or at least a need to look for kindling.

Aaliyah stated she was underage when she married him. That makes him a predator and a pedophile - that being a person who is sexually attracted to and has sex with children.

Let's not forget the interview when Toure asked R. if he liked teenage girls, and R. said, "define teenage". Toure's jaw dropped. R.'s people demanded the interview never be shown again, but Aziz Ansari used it as a whole stand-up routine and tore R. a new butthole.

You'd also do well to read how the music ind... complicit in ignoring the mess around R. Kelly, letting it happen over and over and over simply because they were all cashing in on his record sales.

Yeowch. Hadn't heard about this thing. Pretty awkward. Seems like he's trying to generate sympathy. I hope he ran this by those 23 lawyers. It's playing it safe to understand that the truth is somewhere between two arcs.

From a music perspective, talk about rambling. 19 minutes. Prob "one MORE than 18, so take THAT! " (deranged defensiveness) for another human being I don't think he's a victimizer. I think he's had his share of voluntary punanny for damn near most of his life. He's straight up talking street like a convict though right here. I used to have to mingle with some around my ex band mates.

"So what, i admit it so what" seems to be the message.

Just give it a day or two more for the parodies and the easy "fixes" to this rambling narrative. Hell, i no longer have audio recording equipment but it wouldn't be hard AT ALL to substitute words here and there from his collective output to change the meaning of much of this. (Unless his engineer had the sense to hard wire left and rightas well as center alternate vocal takes to prevent someone from simply phasing his voice out with reversals

Thinking of the timing here...
That was pretty odd, yo... is he still facing some court time or something?

Whoa. Thanks for the article.

Dude was BIG with my "peers" growing up but i never got into his music. Shit... when fOrmer associates and ppl directly tied to him share the same sort of stories. ..yeah. ... sounds insane.

SOunds like he's a tormentor. Fucked in the head too. That bathroom shit and those few stories about him renting a floor or two that reeked of piss definitely sound like some twisted person goes on inside his head. Ouch

I don't mind wave (if it's Prince, of course, u must ain't heard that Noon Rendezvous rehearsal or Junk Music music) n gave this a spin 2 as a "casual fan" of R's work (early stuff mostly, whatever his faults the man had sum hits smile, he lost me around I'm A Flirt actin all tough n shit) n outta curiousity. Not crazy about it n probably won't give it another complete spin again, but I digress. I agree where there's smoke there's fire, he was never convicted, both sides really, don't recall Aaliyah ever saying they were married, but could b wrong n I believe Toure (if we're talking about the same thing) asked if he liked "young girls" n he said "how young" (18 & Over is how I roll personally, another P shout doh!) twocents music

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I guess that's the whole paradox. He's one of the most brilliantly talented artists to come along in a generation yet he's also a creepy perv that makes you wince for liking his music in the first place. boxed shake disbelief

Yeah, sad and upsetting. All that talent flushed. This ain’t MJ: they failed on that.

Okay, okay. So i listened. biggrin honestly i had no intention of listening to the whole thing but it moves along surprisingly fast. Hard to feel for a 50 year old man who apparently still falls for money-hungry parents pushing their daughters off on him and he's not mature or smart enough to say "no thank you".

At this point in his career, R. Kelly hoped that he'd be mentioned in the same breath as his musical heroes, instead he's widely viewed as a prolific singer-songwriter with pedophilic tendencies. That he still has a career is impossible to comprehend.

it's MANY entertainers that have done far worse than The R. Also it's MANY that are into the same things.

He also made a VERY sexual comment about his attraction to a VERY young Justin Bieber a few years ago that NO ONE cared about or called him out on it. disbelief
