Old School Joint of the day(Digital Underground)........

What can I say, Shock G is a bad ass producer. He not much in mainstream anymore, but his beats always did remind me of the Prince sound. I would choose something produced by Shock G then The Neptunes any day. The Sex Packets album is a underated classic. even though I love me some Pharrell razz Anyways My Ol' School Joint is gonna be ...

Shock G always seemed a little ahead of the rest of the game to me. DU has always had some quality songs. Shock is also one of the most underrated producers in the hip hop industry and I can't wait to hear his solo project.

You are right on with this. DU is the top hip hop act EVER! That's right I said it. Look at what these cats gave us; Dowhatchalike, I Get Around & Same Old Song (both w/ pac no less) Humpty Dance, Kiss You Back and IMO their all time best, Freaks of the Industry. These are ALL hip hop classic that you still hear played today. Better yet this group never really fell off. Their 96 release "Future Rhythm" was some serious experimental funk that too many folks slept on. So I'm with you on your props to Shock and the boys. They are the Parliament of rap. Shows how fickle hip hop is that Shock isn't an icon already.

I have the "Sex Packets" cassette, & still play some of it every great once in a while..
for some strange reason, back in the day I was REALLY into "Freaks of the industry"..

they had an "infectious fun" about them, & even today, I still know the steps to "The Humpy Dance", from watching that video so many times...
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Damn I could kiss you! I love that song! (I guess I love a lot of songs). I never get tired of the long version of that song, especially in the middle with the "I Get Lifted" sample. I love Shock G and Sex Packets was off the hook. I love me some Freaks Of The Industry and the title track.
