IS LINKIN PARK OK FOR KIDS?

My 12 year old likes linkin park, is that suitable for him. I don't care for them and its hard to listen and figure it out. Man did I just say that, I feel old, anyway...anyone?

Well...from what I've heard they don't swear on their songs or anything.

If I had kids, I guess I'd rather that they listened to them than Slipknot (or some other group like that)

Well he's 12, pretty soon he'll be ignoring anything you say anyway. You might aswell try to keep his respect as long as you can. lol

Half truth, half in jest.

I thought Linkin' Park was for kids.

This new-wave of kiddie-punk is great for kids, because it gives them a sense of rebellion - something that all children need to an extent - and it's best they feel like they're rebelling with music than other things.

Ha, reminds me of this Linkin Park song:

One Step Closer

I can't take this anymore
I'm saying everything I've said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorence
The less I hear the less you'll say
But you'll find that out anyway

Just Like before...
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breath
Cuz I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break

I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disapear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorence
Nothing seems to go away

Over and over again

Just Like before...
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breath
Cuz I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break

Shut up when I'm talkin' to you
Shut up, shut up, shut up (2x)

I'm about to break

Just Like before...
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breath
Cuz I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break

I might question your son's taste, but I don't think they are objectionable morally or anything.

I think Linkin Park is completely inappropriate for kids. The young are incredibly impressionable, and I think it's best to keep crappy entertainment away from them, in favor of good stuff. And I don't mean wholesome stuff. I just hope it's not too late to set your son on the right path toward decent musical taste.
